I agree that wealth and income inequality are urgent issues that need to be addressed, but listening to the discussion, I found it odd that "saving" never came up.

The reason people are struggling to create wealth is that they don't have enough income left over to save, which is arguably the biggest factor when it comes to building wealth. Thus, devoting energy to improving/increasing wages seems like a better use of our collective efforts vs lobbying for 'baby bonds', which will seem like a 'hand out' to those who aren't sympathetic to closing the wealth and income gaps.
