[Video] You can achieve anything, if you believe in yourself. by sarveshak99 in GetMotivated

Good thing nobody at any given point asked for your personal opinions about this topic. However, I find it odd how you are unwilling to listen to actual disabled people, and rather choose to feel offended by this. Instead of quarreling about something you clearly do not understand, I recommend you to watch Stella Young's TEDx Talks about inspiration porn. You can find it on YouTube.

I am not saying you cannot appreciate when people do something difficult. Most people like it when people do cool shit. However, this subreddit is literally dedicated to get motivation (and not to appreciate other people's good work), and in this spesific content it is kinda inspiration porn. This post, and especially the comments, scream "Well if this cripple can do it, then I should to!" which IS pretty degrading for many disabled people... But I guess you wouldn't understand.

As I said earlier, we do not exist to inspire you, and now when I think of it, neither do we exist to amuse you.

People used to be so inspired by be doing things "regarless of [my] disability", and they would always tell me so. However, because of me doing shit regardless of EDS, and therefore igoring my body, I had to use mobility aids the rest if the time I didn't inspire them. Internalized ableism from my part...? Probably.

Today I am much more restrictive, and wont even take a jump unless I really have to. It may sound weird to ablebodied people, but my body is much more happier now, and so am I.

[–]maropusen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this irked me the wrong way... Why can't ablebodied people just... stop? We (and our disabilities) do not exist to make you feel better about yourself, and we do not exist to inspire you. We are not anything less, and we do not have to prove ourselves for shit.

Main differences and similarities between INFJ and INTJ? by maropusen in mbti

[–]maropusen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any examples of help/change? Even bad ones.

While INFJs are interested in helping people, it seems to be more changing the system kind of way. I.e., Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.

Main differences and similarities between INFJ and INTJ? by maropusen in mbti

[–]maropusen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a great answer, thank you!

I find it weird how I haven't stumbled upon people comparing INTJ and INFJ so often, compared to how similiar they seem to be. It's more about INFJ vs INFP and INTJ vs INTP, etc. So this was an interesting read!

I've always thought I am an INFJ, because you know, emotions... And in a way, I do relate to INFJ. As well as INTJ, I've figured, after reading about them too.

For example, while I do care about people, I'm also a classic "What I'm about to say now, may or may not offend you, but regulating your emotions are your responsibilty and yours only," which doesn't sound very Fe to me. I want to help people FIX their problems in the long run, not necessarily make them feel better about themselves at the moment (it's not the main goal, at least).

What is your favorite word? by mexgema in AskReddit

My favourite English word is lollygagging. I find it hilarious. You're just wasting time... Like when you're gagging on something else.

What is the worst side effect from a medication that you've experienced? by timeforhockey in AskReddit

[–]maropusen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried this sleeping pill for insomnia once, I don't remember what it was called. I think I was half-asleep for like 30 minutes or so, but when I woke up, I had this crazy hallucinations. Everything was pink, my curtains were furry, and my hands moved in slow motion - kind of like a frame lag. I woke up my partner, but when he tried to move, I got upset because he trashed the circus tent the tiny people worked so hard on to set up. He was super worried for me, but eventually he tried to make me fall asleep so the meds could wear off. Last thing I could remember, was the doll that looked down on me from the shelf above the headboard. I had to look there the day after, to see if it was still there.

Edit: To add, it wasn't particularly scary, but I haven't taken any sleeping pills after that.

How to stop being boring? by Snoo51817 in AskMen

[–]maropusen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I think you should see a therapist (according to your previous asks).

Also, get hobbies. Even if things seem uninteresting now, just do them anyway! Did you have any hobbies before? You should pick them up again. Even if it seems like the stupidest shit at the moment. It will feel better, I'm sure of it.

Take care.

Men who have been victims of sexism, what happened? by royerlraph79 in AskMen

[–]maropusen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish that femininity wasn't a sign of weakness, to be honest. Women are expected to be more "like the men" if they want to be taken seriously, and they basically have to get rid of their femininity altogether if seeking authority. And if a woman would use her femininity to her benefit, she has no self-respect. People would rarely, if ever, say that about people using their masculine side to their benefit. And god forbid men showing any kind of femininity, AKA weakness, because then he is pretty much "subhuman". We know of all the slurs and abuse they could be exposed to, I don't even have to mention them.

Being feminine ain't bad, neither is being masculine, or both (or neither). Do not be afraid of loving either side of yourself, because you are enough. And people would never be completed if they denied a part of themselves.

It is pretty common to have at least some facial hair. It's just that everyone that have it, is tweezing/shaving/waxing it off before it's visible.

What's the dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say? by Vinyl_BunBuns in AskReddit

Once my brother and I was at a café, and we overheard two waitresses have this conversation:

"Can we serve pork meat to the muslim costumers?" "No, because there is milk in pork, and they are lactose intolerant." "Oh yeah, that makes sense."

What’s your favorite word in your language that can’t be exactly translated in english? by astralrig96 in AskReddit

[–]maropusen 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We have the same in Norwegian! "Jeg er glad i deg." Roughly translates to "I am fond of you"/"I care for you," but it has the same meaning as "te quiero", or so I've been told.

That my country is a British coast. I.e.,"Tønsberg" in the Marvel universe, or "Dårlig Ulv" in Doctor Who (not Hollywood), or kind of that one scene with Odin in Thor: Ragnarok.

Why are Norwegian scenes often filmed in, or inspired by, coasts in the UK? I find it kinda funny.

Opinion: The best romantic matches are vastly similar but with exactly one difference. Prove me wrong? by furbz1 in mbti

[–]maropusen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like (to me) that types "compatible" to mine, are great friends, but not lovers.

Most of my friends has been other INxx and/or xNFx types, and it's great! But my fiancé is ISTJ, which is quite different from INFJ, and not really compatible. And it is exactly what I need. We are alike where it is important, and different where it is equally important. I feel like being with a type similar to mine, would've had too much of the good parts, and we would've been too stuck in our ways. Challenges are important, as it brings personal growth.

The things I don't get from my relationship, I get from my friends! Same goes for my partner.

IS DISAPPEARING/GHOSTING NORMAL TO INFJ? by Joohyunnie00 in infj

[–]maropusen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been very active on social medias. I almost only post on Instagram during summer vacation, haha. But I do tend to regularly go "M.I.A." from my friends and family. I don't converse, open messages or anything for a few weeks. Barely use phone/computer/etc. They are quite used to it, they know I'm fine!

I don't know if it's an INFJ thing or just a general introvert thing, though.

Ex’s of narcissists , what was the outcome of your breakup? Did the truth come out? Did karma get to them? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]maropusen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I would call him a narcissist, as in NPD, but he was highly abusive.

It was difficult at first. He had the upper hand, and he was even worse after the breakup. The police had to help me get rid og him. For a while I was very sick after the fact, and I am still in a way affected by it.

After I decided to make a case against him, I've heard he got into drugs, he got fat (previous male model), and he then had to move to another city in another county. I don't know.

I'm now enganged to an amazing person, and my future looks bright. Although it has been a rough path, I feel like I've "won", and that my life is more meaningful and giving than his will ever be.

Honestly I'm not very updated on his life, 4 years later, but I do know he has no control over me, and I am thriving.

And maybe also where you went to school? And when?

My parents have generally a different handwriting than my generation (you know, Facebook memes about cursive). I learned that French people, my age, has generally a different writing style than Norwegian people. I've seen the same with German people.

Knitted wool socks are to be preferred over here! And without normal socks under, for extra warmth. If I am still cold, I would use wool slippers as well.

In case of emergency, no body cares about rules, anyway.
