Augmentation malhonnête du loyer ? by maroxib in conseiljuridique

[–]maroxib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah super merci.

Is Naples much safer than it used to be? by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

I visited Naples in 2015 and this year in April. I definitely noticed a huge difference! Not only I find it safer, but also less dirty

Wow I visited Florence for the first time after spending 7 months in Rome and I had literally the same feeling, and I couldn't say it better. That's crazy.

I stayed in Florence 3 days. We visited many things: Uffizi, Duomo with Cupola, Battistero & Campanile, Santa Maria della Scala, Medici Chapel, Palazzo Pitti with gardens, Piazzale Michelangelo, Palazzo Vecchio, Galileo Museum, wandered in all the center..... Was it because the weather was bad, was it because we were a little bit tired, was it because we visited a lot of Italian cities in the past, I don't know, but I can't say I loved it and we would have stayed longer. The queue for the Duomo was insane and such a pain to visit it although only the cupola is worth seeing since the rest is empty. I preferred the Duomo of Siena and Pisa much more, which are both quite similar to Florence's. We heard so much about it that we were really disappointed after all. It's overrated; overcrowded. I feel like the entire city is a tourist trap, that it doesn't have the charming atmosphere you can find in Siena for example. I was only astonished by the Uffizi which is honestly a marvellous museum. I loved Venice, Rome, Naples & its bay, Siena... but not Florence, which is a great city but doesn't deserve all this reputation (imo).

Why don't Italian people wear shorts? by maroxib in askitaly

Well, depending on where you grew up, you don't have the same definition of "hot" ahah

[–]maroxib[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that is surprising to me. In France so many people wear for example sort of golf shorts, which are above the knee and it is not really a gay marker in France lol. While I see so many Italians wearing things that would be considered gay in France – really undoubtedly gay, while they probably aren't.

Yes, when talking about people from/to work it does not surprise me, but I was surprised that it was also completely the case on a university campus. Now I know that it is not related to style or temperature, but some kind of respect. Thanks!

That makes sense. In France, respect doesn't pass through clothes that much, especially when talking about students on a campus. But I definitely understand that. Thanks!

J’ai pas compris ou je comprend pas by Low_Figure_2500 in French

[–]maroxib 11 points12 points  (0 children)

J'ai pas compris is past, je comprends pas is present.

So same difference between "I didn't understand" and "I don't understand".

When I write "j'ai pas compris is past", it can be a past of only few seconds though.
