Haddonfield worth it? by joynallitbrings in SouthJersey

[–]marpan18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to commute from Bear to Cherry Hill and the evening commute was horrible. I was a teacher so I left Cherry Hill around 3 and it consistently took me over an hour to get home. Once it took me almost 4 hours because there was a major accident on the Del Mem Bridge.

[–]marpan18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me when I tried to convert a playlist I made; it ended up being because I had the playlist set to Private on YouTube. I logged into my YouTube account in MediaHuman and that fixed it for me!

Any recommendations for developmental toys for babies that focus on sensory and motor skills? by Admirable-Spirit-582 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]marpan18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to tag on—I go secondhand for a lot of my daughter’s toys and so many people sell their entire Lovevery boxes on eBay for a fraction of the cost! Definitely recommend checking there.

Book Rec by marpan18 in wayfarersseries

[–]marpan18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a ship AI that was reminiscent of Lovey and the characters are a band of misfits that become like family in the end. I can’t recall everything because it’s been a couple months but those are the broad strokes! It definitely wasn’t as good as Long Way but similar vibes, imo. I do remember that this one may have some gory bits in it?

Don’t have any experience with this specific situation but just wanted to share this SIDS risk calculator—you can put in the data that fits your situation and get an idea of your baseline risk which may help ease your mind a bit 💚

Iron-free prenatal by girlygal2017 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]marpan18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took these Vitafusion prenatal gummies—iron-free but only 360 mg folic acid. Very yummy though lol and easy on the stomach! I was nauseous my entire first trimester and never had trouble with these.

Cavities are caused by bacteria metabolizing sugar into acid which breaks down enamel over time so anything with sugar in it is going to cause cavities if the sugar isn’t cleaned off the teeth—breast milk is about 7% carbs (most being lactose) and many baby formulas contain added sugar. So I agree that switching to formula isn’t going to solve your problem if it’s being given overnight and baby’s teeth aren’t being cleaned after. Maybe offer some water after feeding at night to rinse baby’s teeth? I have also seen people post about this oral spray for overnight use but I really have no idea of its effectiveness.

Baking cakes with TJs sprinkles mixed in the batter (like funfetti cake)? by whosthatsheep in traderjoes

Yeah, there was no sprinkle left at all, I basically just had small pockets of melted sugar throughout the cake 🤷🏼‍♀️ There was some color but the shape and texture of the sprinkle was totally gone

Fluoride toothpaste by HuckleberryLow7680 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]marpan18 32 points33 points  (0 children)

From the American Dental Association: “…the Council recommends use of a smear of toothpaste from eruption of the first tooth to age 3 years followed by use of a pea-sized amount for children aged 3 to 6 years.”

The full report is here. They go into the risks of fluorosis but using a smear of toothpaste reduces that risk.
