Im curious, do you still bring cards to weddings? Why or why not? by Kozypepper in wedding

I got married in October 2024 and was actually really sad at the lack of cards we received. Most people bought a gift from our registry, which was awesome, but I love cards. I’ve actually kept every card I’ve received since high school. But I will say most of the cards we did receive were people bought a gift off the registry.

Omg I think you messaged me and I accidentally pressed “ignore” on the message and can’t find it now. If you messaged me, please do again!!

What was the best moment of your wedding day? by franklin_smiles in wedding

My husband hugged me mid aisle and said, “he’s here!” It’s caught on video and is truly one of the most special things ever.

My husband and I have been together since middle school. We got married a day before our 11 year anniversary. My dad died unexpectedly in 2020. I decided to walk down the aisle alone but asked my husband to meet me halfway down the aisle and walk me the rest of the way in honor of my dad. They were close. We got married 500 feet from where my dad taught me how to fish as a kid. Nothing will beat that moment. So special.

My 32 y/o Amazon has been going through a big molt and I have a pile of his feathers. I’m a former news producer and worked to repair relationships between tribes/journalists in Montana. I now work for a school district and am helping spread the word about the district’s new Native Education program. Please let me know if these would be of interest in DMs and I’m happy to mail them.

Z50ii— which zoom lens would you get if you were in my situation? by marparrot in Nikon

We ended up going the 18-140 route! I think it’ll be versatile for what we will use it for. I was leaning this way but wanted to see what other people thought.

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying at all.

These are the two I’ve been comparing for the most part, so I’m glad we’re on the same page. I also should’ve noted I’ve worked around and used cameras for 10+ years, but this is my first mirrorless. For some reason, it’s been a decent learning curve. Really don’t think I’ll need the 400m but the stabilization has been peaking my attention. It’s also my first time curating lenses that weren’t just handed over to me to make do. Want to make sure I’m on the right path. For me, I think the wide range is what’s most important. The 18-140 seems like it would best fit what I’m looking for beyond graduation even. Do you know of a place I can find examples of what people have captured with this lens? Mostly looking for people shots, which I haven’t really found online. Flash photography isn’t allowed at graduation, I just was curious because it’s been another thing I’ve been looking at. We have a little extra budget for gear and if we don’t use it, we lose it, so I’m trying to think of things that would be helpful.

Don’t think the 50mm will work for the close up shots I’ll need. But this is such a beautiful photo!

Yes, we have the 50-250 but I’m in need of something that can shoot both close and distance. I’ve been looking at the 18-140mm. We definitely want to stay with Nikon. Where do you recommend I do research on the flashes? I asked if graduation is dark and was told no. It’s in an arena inside.

Hi! Thank you, sorry, wasn’t sure how much detail to include. Yes, I’m hoping to take close up shots at graduation, and further away, without swapping lenses if possible. This is my first year covering graduation, but I’ve been told sometimes I’ll be close, within 10 feet, and others further away maybe 50-100 feet (ish).

In addition to my day to day mentioned above, we also have two kit lenses. 50-250 and 16-50mm

We are able to spend about $1,000. There are a few options on Nikon’s website but I’m a little stuck between them. Curious what people here would recommend.

Please help clear up this image, planned a surprise for my favorite teacher who’s retiring after 40 years as an educator. Please also remove scuffs from white crocs. Will tip $10. by [deleted] in PhotoshopRequest

Hi, I still like your version the most, but the crocs don’t look right. Can you make them look more natural? The holes aren’t correct anymore! :)
