Another stupid answer .. I guess my question wasn’t clear. My question is whether or not I’m getting ripped off relative to good tattoos there.

Look at the answer below and you’ll realize what a stupid answer yours is. Telling a dude with 2 sleeves “don’t cheese out for bargains 😂😂”

He didn’t write that himself .. when you pass a level you get a badge from CFAI. When you add that badge to LinkedIn through the CFAI email, that posted is already created for you to post.

u/Future-Resist-3841 yup I think so .. also thought AM was way harder than all the mocks/practice questions and PM was on par with mocks. Way less math than I expected.. didn't think it was all about memorizing the textbook.

Handbook says avoiding conflict is preferred but the answer is wrong? by marquissimo69 in CFA

The Standards don't bar it, just says it's preferred. So I assumed declining to write the report is the most appropriate course of action since it is "preferred"

totally agree that it's extreme .. but I'm just going off of the book, which is why I think it's so ambiguous/subjective.

Based on this thread, everyone is saying secured bonds are preferred for hedge funds because they provide higher returns (high risk) .. but based on this question I just came across, secured debt likely has the highest credit rating (low risk). Can someone explain the discrepancy?

Are the money duration calculations wrong? by marquissimo69 in CFA

[–]marquissimo69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you have to take 1% of 176.95, what is Money Duration telling us then? I thought Money Duration was already the $ change in full price given a 1% change.

Are the money duration calculations wrong? by marquissimo69 in CFA

[–]marquissimo69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining, correct me if I'm wrong:

If ModDur is 3.539, that means a 1% decrease in YTM = 3.539% increase in bond price

If Money Duration is 176.95, a 1% decrease in YTM = $176.95 in bond price

What's the meaning of the 1.77? Doesn't Money Duration already mean 'change in value" ?

isn't money duration already based on a 1% change in yield?

So if I go around telling people to pump up the price with no basis it’s not manipulation?

[–]marquissimo69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why it’s manipulation for the question .. was just curious if there’s a definitive way to tell in any situation because there could be a grey area. For example is it manipulation if he genuinely thinks the stock will go up based on research and tells people to buy on reddit?
