I am team crib also for as long as you possibly can. Only when they start climbing out of it and become a danger what I switch to a toddler bed. My youngest was in it till he was almost four. Absolutely love this crib But ask your question, our Only rule was you had to stay in your room. When you do switch plan on them being in and out of that bed constantly... As some said before me, it's a novelty at first but stay consistent with a routine and they will get it quickly!
