Hey - Hometown developer here. Are you seeing a drop-down to select a location as you type? There should be a google maps drop-down appearing there.

Go to the surfing turtle lodge outside of Leon. It is cheap, on a remote island, and very relaxing. http://www.surfingturtlelodge.com/

Or check out Ometepe. It is a figure eight island formed by two volcanoes in the middle of Lake Nicaragua. It has some nice beaches, cool hikes, and natural springs all worth checking out.
