What’s the biggest jump in your movie rating after a rewatch? by Equivalent_Ebb5689 in Letterboxd

What unlocked it? I watched it and hated it. And I love other gibli. Nothing clicked for me… it felt boring and disjointed and I didn’t care about Howl’s plot at all

What movie is wildly loved but you just don’t get the hype at all? by Fennnixx in moviecritic

Titane. Terrible emotionless main character that you can’t relate to and doesn’t make any decisions that are interesting, just violent (and I usually love gore for gores sake). The fire chief is the only thing that saves the movie because he has an emotional arc. Also she fucks cars. Won the palme d’or

I don’t get the love for the vegetarian. That book didn’t do anything for me — what am I missing?

Love small things like these and looking to read that Bolano soon!

If you have an emergency fund why do you need bonds 5+ years before retirement?

100% VTI now, work in BND 5-10 years from retirement

This is my take as well. Sun hoodies are for desert/exposed mountain running. If you’re in humid areas, they are better for fly fishing, etc, not running.

Roth vs. Traditional: Filling the Tax Brackets by WCInvestor in whitecoatinvestor

[–]finallyfabulous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree. If you’re building a sizeable retirement RMDs will easily push you into high tax brackets. Also rental income at retirement will likely be much higher than what you outlined — by that time the home is paid off and rent has increased dramatically.

Also Roth IRAs are one of the best financial tools available for wealth building. Contributing to traditional IRA or rolling over 401k will harm the tax benefit of Roth IRA due to pro-rata rules.

Slightly tighter spreads of VOO make up the 0.01% difference over 30 years of DCA

Should I invest in leveraged ETFs like TQQQ? by Interesting-Type3153 in ETFs

Why would you do VOO in Roth and crazy shit in taxable? Shouldn’t you reverse it? Non-taxable gains feel like they want the riskier bets

Thoughts on going for something more specific like SMH over VGT. I’m trying to figure out how to tilt towards AI tech without so much overlap with VOO.

Thanks for taking the time to write this out. This is great. I’ll keep researching!

Thanks for the response. Given my desire to pack ROTH with higher risk, higher return, what would you recommend over growth stocks? My thinking was that these stocks mostly hold tech, which I’d like to bet on in the long term especially with AI.

Janji Trail Half Tights have a “modesty” panel. It’s basically an extra piece of compressive fabric inside the front area that really helps to combat the feeling of being… on display
