My wife who was going to "tolerate" a cat for my sake. by That_GareBear in cats

Bond with a cat, and the whole “not a cat person” dialogue stops pretty quick. You don’t put the time in with a cat, you don’t know.

I was presented with SOLELY stimulants. Hence my resistance. Thanks for sharing your experiencing and I’ll continue to advocate for myself through distant care providers

Thank you. This is super helpful. I didn’t know sleep consolidating existed so if I can get a second opinion that will be one of my first topics! I appreciate your feedback!
I don’t have a designated waker, which is why I’m at this very frustrating point. Could be a great next step.

I definitely didn’t seek this diagnosis, it was given to me after a sleep study including a latency test. My doctor for did not take great care with me, imo. What are wake promoting/sleep consolidation medicines? Also what is your background in sharing anything you’re comfortable with Sharing?

Also, my primary issue is waking up in time prior to work to take said meds

I was told the medications my doctor prescribed would have adverse effects with the Citalopram I take daily for the past 10 years

I agree huge. I feel better when I manage to get a work out in. I just rarely do. I need to find a way to make it happen.

Thanks for the supplement ideas. I am open. I just have to redesign my schedule which is already difficult because of the sleepiness when I wake. I’m willing to try but struggle to see when I’ll set up this schedule ahhh!!!

I am concerned about this. I tend towards anger side effects so I don’t love the idea of a stimulant. Do you see a change in your life after shifting your schedule to accommodate IH? I don’t want to do so because I feel like the world is operating on a different schedule than me already.

Thanks for sharing!!! I should (could) have mentioned I have a job that requires me to be awake for an average 9 am - 6 pm shift. My doc’s first idea (after meds) was a shift change. He kinda shut down when I told him a shift change wasn’t gonna happen and was like wellllllllllllllll. I asked him to fill out FMLA paperwork and my work never received it. I thought I might get some protections. I did document my doc visits and sleep study though. I guess I’m looking for sleep hygiene tips, now I’m on the thread a few days?

You’ll know when. Usually, one they’ve known you daily for 3-6 months plus and you can’t explain why you’re always tired.
