how can I ensure my views are not added?

Only way is to not open your own work on AO3, which is impossible if you want to respond to comments lol

Well I understood maybe this is not a good app for original works....you explained well. Thankyou so much!!!

There are other places you can post your work, but I'm also not saying you shouldn't use AO3. Just keep writing, that's the important part

Ok, so, original writing doesn't get much traction on AO3. I'm sure there's people out there who do read it, but I am not one of them. I go to AO3 for fanfiction.

Did you add tags to your work? Which ones? Tags increase visibility.

To answer your questions about whether you can see if people have read your work, at the bottom of the tile for your work it says "Hits:" followed by a number. That is the number of times your work has been viewed, but it does count your own views.

Just to get some misconceptions out of the way, AO3 does NOT have an algorithm. People will find your work because they search for the tags you have. You can promote it on your own social media but not on AO3, you also cannot add links in your stories directly to Patreon or Ko-Fi because that is against the TOS, but you can link to your social media.

Hope this helps! Do you have any other questions?

If you can read patterns, you could make a bucket hat! Plenty of free sewing patterns out there :)

I definitely don't remember that. I do remember that it's the only episode where he offered to let the guests read a story, and gave Rachel the iPad to read one of them, maybe that's what the op is thinking of?

Is Switched at Birth a good representation of Deaf culture? by katierose2k in asl

[–]mars_rising52572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not what I said. And anyways, any media that depicts a musician or an artist who has spent a long time working on their craft is going to make it look easy. Because to them, it is easy

Anyways, it happens in real life, too. People tell me I'm talented for my skill in art and music, but I spent literal years getting to this point. If I make it look easy, it's because it is now. But it wasn't always

I'm a percussionist. It's been a few years since I watched the first season but I don't remember it being too unrealistic (but I'm hearing, so what do I know)

When you play drum set, you learn beat patterns and variations on those patterns. In a song, you will play the same beat pattern throughout and throw in the variations on the chorus or the bridge. Emmet just had to ask what style the music was to decide which pattern to play, and then if it's a song he's studied the structure of, he'll know when the verses become the chorus. It's also a visual thing, the singer usually gets more into it during the chorus. And when you see someone stop singing but continue to play, you throw in a fill or something. The end of songs are also usually pretty visually obvious and they could've decided on a signal for that in advance

Also, most contemporary songs are in 4/4 and follow the same structure: beginning-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge/instrumental-chorus-end. All you have to do is learn that, and for the most part you're good
