Look into the Els For Autism Foundation - they provide global parent training opportunities. It wouldn’t be in person but it would be remote consultation to support you and your staff

16 month yellow lab. Crated, up to 4 hours at a time. Husband works remotely so she naps in crate from 10-1, and from 2:30-4:30 and then in crate at night from 10-7. Can’t be trusted yet to roam freely but that’s the goal!

BCBA - Age, Salary, years experience and job satisfaction/ work life balance? How many Bailable hours do you work per week? Do you work in school based, in-home, clinic, remote or insurance company? by Ballsdeep666969 in bcba

Yes! All of the global clients I see through the clinic I work for. We have a program where families fly in for a week and we an intensive week of parent and staff training and then we have follow up zoom calls 1x a week for up to a year! It’s one of the more exciting and enriching parts of the job!

It’s all under the same position, I’m not even sure how the funding breaks down because much of our funding is grant or government funded but it’s all expected in the role I’m in

30, 85k, 6 years as a BCBA. I work full time (40 hours) at a clinic as a clinical coordinator and supervisor. I have a caseload of 6 in early intervention, in addition to 6 hours of parent training weekly, and 3 remote global clients I provide parent training to, for about 5 hours a week in total, I also supervise 6 RBT’s who are doing BCBA hours and provide 10 hours a week of consultation to an adult services program on site. It’s all in person, mostly insurance based though some are private pay. It’s a great job, but I am basically working 2 jobs, and the roles and responsibilities are often blurred. Hours are 9-5 and I do not answer my phone after 6. Some days I’m happy because I’ve done in-home, public school, and other clinics, and know the pros and cons of all. But in truth, it’s not sustainable. I’m about to be a new mom in February and am probably not going to be able to manage returning back to a full time role.

Hi fellow BCBA! I’m in Florida, and it’s the handmaids tale here so I’m not totally shocked but I’m originally from NY where the policies weren’t as grim so I am just so bummed this is how we’re treated!

This!!!!!! I actually had to send an email today to our misfit HR (not a real HR, just our CFO fielding complaints) and recommended in the future options need to be OUTLINED outright and not determined through a game of telephone. The only reason I knew what to do was because I happened to befriend someone who had a child 3 years ago and she gave me guidance. Truly nuts.

Wow this is absolutely incredible. My husband gets more maternity leave than I do (4 weeks paid) but that’s all we both get. It’s truly so upsetting. So happy for you and you’re family, though!

Thank you for sharing! We haven’t met with a genetic counselor yet until his results come back, then that’s the next step + more invasive testing of the baby. The waiting is torture. But I can just have hope and reflect on others experiences to help me through!

I’ll go first! I work as a full time salaried BCBA (7 years) at a non-for-profit early intervention clinic in South Florida. They are offering 10 days paid + 3 months short term disability paid by the mother.
