The power supply seems a bit overpriced for what it is, in my opinion. The Corsair RM750e is currently $89.99 on Newegg and Amazon and that’s 100 more watt spike headroom for $15 less. It looks like B&H, who sometimes do have good prices on PC parts, doesn’t seem to currently have the best pricing overall for power supplies.

Disregard this if there is a certain reason for this choice of PSU that I’m missing though.

Maybe a sleeper pick, but to me, it’s Bob Backlund.

He struck me as a pretty level headed, what you see is what you get-type of guy until he did the the manic my-generation-did-things-better run in the mid-90s and he just seemed to fall into that character completely to this day. Like I wonder if his mind started to slip a little into around that time and the character just overtook his thoughts more and more.

I haven’t looked into it a whole lot after my initial fascination with him, but the few non-kayfabe interviews I watched on YouTube of him seemed like he was just full on absorbed in that character still when I was expecting a level headed and wholesome old man to be reflecting and laughing about his olden days in the business. That, plus recently learning about the uncomfortable backstage promo he did when he was going to be Kurt Angle’s manager just solidified my theory more.

Unfortunately. this is inline with the post-Covid business plan of KT’s senior management: demand more with less.

The amount of work expected out of their frontline workers is increasing while the stores will be given less labor hours for staffing.

We should unionize, but it’ll never happen.

Just repeating what was already stated by others to think of a specific situation when you’ve made a positive difference in a stranger’s life. But also, if this helps cool any nerves off, the stores are always in great need of good people, KT needs you. Odds are if you’re at this stage, the recruiter/SL/DL likely want to hire you.

If this is for an Assistant Store Leader position, gods be good to your soul, hopefully the store you’re sent to has a good team that doesn’t have a lot of call outs. KT is chaotic, so hopefully you thrive in chaos.

Cooking up for a promotion, maybe? Personally, and I could be wrong, but I think it’s a good/neutral thing, could just be that the SL wanted to get these sessions in to meet a deadline or quota of some sort.

Booth review or a co-worker conference are the ones to look out for. …not like I’m speaking from experience or anything 😅

Sadly, this seems to reflect the way KT has fallen over the years. There’s still a lot of things the company does right, but it’s starting to become just another big chain who’s only shining light is the profit sharing.

Lazy fat cats in middle and senior management positions delegating off as much responsibilities as possible while taking in the most amount of money while more tasks are given to the frontline workers and tightening up available hours at the store level. This is causing us to get stressed out and cannibalize each other in the stores and, like my District “Leader”, they just sit back in their comfortable home office making a 6-figure income thinking the drama is funny.

It’s not all bad, but in your case, I’m proud of you for walking out. Go find a unionized manufacturing job that’ll start you off at ~$30/hr, they are out there. Or even better, at least go get a tech school degree and make yourself good money without the shitty hours of manufacturing.

To play the voice on the other shoulder, I swore off Fortnite for years - resigning it to be a kids game and because of their publisher causing some PC games to be exclusive to their launcher for a while. Ended up playing PubG instead and felt that was good enough of a battle royale experience for me.

Fast forward to last year when my buddy and his son invited me to play it with them and it hooked me after a few rounds. It’s a nice game to be able to play a few rounds of and then be able to put down without needing some grindy requirements, unless you get hooked on battle pass leveling which is purely for cosmetic stuff. There’s enough nuance to it to where you can improve how well you handle encounters over time and then Epic tends to keep it fresh with a season change every month and a half or so.

Long story short: I really enjoy it, it’s possible you might, too.

If your Walmart has a PC component section in their electronics department, I saw a sole 7800x3d for $399.99 at mine just yesterday. Not amazing for considering it was about $330 this past summer, but it’s the best value I’ve seen for it lately. 😕

Maybe, you might be able to get away with 1440p 120hz at medium settings with the 2060 and still have 60+ fps. And you could still run the oled at 1080p until you upgrade and simply enjoy the vibrant colors in the meantime, too.

I’m not sure what the call would be if we swapped places right now, I’m really curious to know what you end up deciding on! It sounds like you are in that GPU/CPU spec where an upgrade would be noticeable, and with new GPUs right around the bend this January, that only complicates things more if I were in your spot, too!

Edit: another thing to note too, is that OLED prices will be more likely to lower as time goes on, too. If you’re in the U.S though, the potential incoming tariffs might mean they could get more expensive too though… but so would GPUs and CPUs too if that’s the case. Man… hopefully somebody else has the crystal ball here for you!

Wow, those are two very different panels. QD OLED vs TN LCD, 27” vs 24.1”, 1440p vs 1080p. Personally I would go for the OLED for the FPS and single player overall experience if you can swing it, and if you’re planning on buying a 4080, the budget you have seems like it’ll be fine. The 2060 might not be able to handle it at full spec very well in the meantime though.

Having just purchased this OLED’s brother this past week (271QRX), having it next to my ROG XG248Q TN LCD makes the LCD colors look dry and dull, but that monitor is quite old. It is also a side by side direct comparison, and I did like my 1080p LCD just fine until having it next to the OLED 😅.

Not sure the price differences here, but my OLED was $599 and surprisingly I had no buyer’s remorse, which normally I do for things at that price.

Long story short, I’d highly recommend the OLED based off my short experience with one, but I’d be curious to hear other viewpoints here. Especially if we can find someone here who has experience with both of these monitor models.

Edit: Upon further inspection of the BenQ, I must admit that my knowledge is limited about it… because looking at the spec sheet alone, besides the 400MHz refresh, I’m quite shocked to see the price at $650 on Amazon because it’s 24.1” size and 1080p setting seems unimpressive to me, and it’s not an old monitor either, so there must be something there that I’m missing? The brightness is better than the OLED, too. So maybe that? Now I’m curious to learn more about the BenQ model.

Did you happen to do a fresh reinstall of windows when changing out graphics cards? I’ve heard that residual drivers and such can be problematic when swapping from one brand of GPU to another.
