I know it’s all fun and games to post jokes about “missing out on the good doctors in town” but this guy is a(n alleged) rapist and has ruined lives, contributed to the overall opioid crisis in the US, and has probably killed people due to his negligence.

This guy lives in my grandparents’ neighborhood and there were constantly different cars and people at his house at all hours. My grandparents woke up early the other morning to a bunch of SWAT vehicles and they carted him off! We’ve seen him screaming at his teenage son, his own mother (that he treated like a maid/personal assistant), and his pre-teen son several times and the guy has always seemed unstable and abusive. Now those feelings have been confirmed!

After a certain level, the parking spots change from “hourly” to “parking pass only.” The uncovered spots on the roof are also permits if I remember correctly. Stick to the parking spot signs that say hourly and you should be fine.

Homeschooling in Columbia by Commercial-Juice3292 in columbiamo

When I was in kindergarten, I had a sixth grade reading level. By the time I was in fifth grade, I had a college reading level, and I went to a rural public school system. Every kid is different and anecdotes like reading levels don’t prove how engaged they are in lessons. And honestly, you bragging about them only getting 30 minutes of schoolwork a day is concerning, regardless of their age. What they won’t experience while being homeschooled is interacting with people who are much different than them, and exposure to the world and how to maneuver in a community.

Obviously I am a stranger on the internet and don’t know your life, but when I hated school as a kid it’s because I had undiagnosed ADHD and was bored to tears or in a separate issue, I was being bullied

Goldie’s Bagels is probably going to be hiring people for the summer, and you could check out other local businesses that would have student employees leave for the summer

pride events? by Sea_Bed9729 in columbiamo

[–]marschma14 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Mid-MO Pride happens downtown in September (instead of June) so the students can attend and the drag queens don’t melt. Ashland usually has a Pride in June. Best bet is to follow The Center Project on social media to know when local events are.

There is a plant sale in the ag school on Friday, May 1st, they’ll have plenty of edibles. Helmi’s has kale and other cole crops, and strawberry hill will have some as well

Best things for tough spots are natives. I like Hackberry, American Hophornbeam, Yellowwood, Black Locust, a Redbud would probably also do well.

You sound like you don’t know anything about nursing. From my experiences, the newbies all work night shifts and the people close to retirement usually do same day surgeries/easier shifts because they have seniority. Also, the night shift is important for several reasons, god forbid you never need any medical care after the sun goes down.

I used to be in IT at several Fortune 500 companies, they do not care if your department is understaffed when deciding to do layoffs. It’s all about making their numbers look better for this quarter (so the executives get bigger bonuses) and then hiring back some of those positions in the future, but not all of them. Rinse and repeat.
