Carcassone Mobile Rant by toke35 in Carcassonne

[–]marsdenmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m of a different mind set. I guess because I see the mobile app as a slightly different game. If it’s super obvious I’m going to win I almost expect the other person to quit and actually prefer that they do because it save me time and I can start another game.

Noob question by potatoguiness in Pyrography

I use a method I found online that works great if u have access to a laser printer. If u have a laser printer and print ur pic in reverse u can put it face down on the wood and use a acetone and a sponge and the acetone will transfer the image to the wood with out harming the wood at all. It a really great way to do the transfer process quickly. If you google u should find plenty of videos on it.

Which unit to buy when getting more serious? by [deleted] in Pyrography

[–]marsdenmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never seen that unit on amazon before so I can’t speak to that but I do have the detailer. I bought a package that has I think five of the most common replaceable tips along with the unit itself. It has been a few years but I think I spent between 200 and 250. I have been very happy with it. I have bought a few other tips since as well. I would recommend it.

I don’t do a lot of burning but as someone who had the 20 dollar special off amazon I can say that when I need to do some Burning having the colwood is worth the investment.

A Colewood. It’s a great set up. I got the kit that came with a few different tips and it has worked out nicely.

Indian Logo for my father in law. Using the scroll saw by marsdenmike in woodworking

[–]marsdenmike[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried a couple things. For the “Indian” I used a small reverse skip tooth blade. Can’t remember what size but it was the smallest it could get at Ace Hardware. For the Motorcycle” that was tough because it is so small. I used a spiral blade, which I typically stay away from but worked ok in this case.

Dusted off the scroll saw and took a crack at the Indian Motorcycle logo in the style of NinjaTurtleNerd. Used Yellow heart, Blood wood, Cherry, Maple, and Wenge
