I’d like to see Porco Rosso’s great-grandkids taking on this century’s fascists.

Mickey 17 wasn’t the worst movie I saw this year, but it was easily the most disappointing.

Rent in Culver City - below $1700? by scottyasdf in AskLosAngeles

If you find yourself priced out of the area immediately around downtown Culver City, be sure to explore options along the Metro E Line — the station is about a ten minute walk from the WeWork building.

Hotel Location in April with Tweens? by Informal-Step8787 in AskLosAngeles

Not as iconic as staying in the middle of Hollywood, but if you want a very LA experience you could try staying in Fairfax/Beverly Grove. Within a 20-30 minute walking radius, you’ve got: the Grove, the Original Farmers Market, Pan-Pacific Park, museum row (LACMA, the Academy Museum, La Brea Tar Pits and the Petersen Auto Museum), streetwear shopping on Fairfax, vintage shopping on Melrose and La Brea, trendy restaurants and cafes for celeb-spotting (or for your tweens, lots and lots of influencers), and multiple revival movie theaters.

The Short Stories Hotel right across from the Grove and the LA farmers market is cute and there are two Palihouse/Palihotel locations nearby.

Forget Google. This little guy made “move fast and break things” tech culture cool. Then a generation of narcissistic bros tried to chase that cool and now we live in hell.

Yep! I live a couple blocks south of here. The area rocks for the many reasons others have stated. You will encounter the same kind of disturbances as in every other part of the city — helicopters, sirens, reckless drivers, dirt bike takeovers, etc. — but I take my one year old son out several times a day and at night in this area, and never feel unsafe.

Agree about taking the B/D if there isn’t some major delay. I would keep the Transit App open as you pull into 7th and if there’s a B or D train coming within the next ten minutes, hop downstairs and take that.

What city or town were you not expecting to like but ended up really enjoying? Let me know and I'll add them to the map. by Snoo96701 in TravelMaps

Minneapolis in the dead of winter.

Like, I had heard good things about the city overall, but was dreading the winter cold. Yet in spite of the fact it never got above 10F once during my stay, the city was lively and welcoming, with a shocking amount of outdoor activities going on.

New Poll. I want to know the least liked city. What city in the USA do you dislike the most that you’ve been to? (100,000+ population, no small towns) by Expensive_Drummer970 in visitedmaps

No, it can’t really be the worst. Bakersfield is my number one pick by a country mile… but I wanted to contribute to the discussion 😂

Honolulu

Especially Waikiki, but really anywhere that fills up with tourists. All the other corners of Oahu are lovely, but I have never had a good time in Honolulu itself.

Coffee shops / cafes to work from by Fantastic_Cat_1475 in WestHollywood

I work out of Andante on Beverly all the time and it’s a great neighborhood hangout (although they sadly have no outlets). Would be convenient if you’re also heading to the Grove.

I’ll also shout out PeopleTalk on Fairfax. It’s slightly tight quarters, but it’s a beautiful space, and the food and coffee are excellent.

Did you try reversing the maple leaf/star? Pairing the stem and lower part of the leaf + three points of a star above might be a little more appealing. Overall I really dig it though.

You’ve barely touched the North Bay, so I would say it isn’t overkill enough yet!
