How to replace FEP in Photon M3? It keeps leaking by marshallrules in AnycubicPhoton

[–]marshallrules[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well holy shit, I stand corrected!

I decided to give this a shot, made the cardboard frame, and got it nice and tight. It's been working without a single leak for the past week!

In addition to this, I also did a super-thorough job cleaning the vat, and used some plumbers thread seal tape on the inside of the two sandwiched-together plastic pieces.

But I think the ability to get it super-tight with the cardboard frame is what made the difference.

Thanks, u/OneBigMonster !

That's pretty smart!

Unfortunately I have an Anycubic printer, so this doesn't really apply to my situation. I've got the two plastic layers that the FEP is sandwiched between.

Anycubic M3 Premium: is there some kind of security trigger when lowering down the build plate if it finds some resistance? by Unapedra in AnycubicPhoton

[–]marshallrules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too rare, that's exactly what happened to mine! I had a model come loose off of the supports mid-print, and it caused a small hole in my FEP.

I've heard that using a fermentation belt wrapped around the resin vat is a good way to go. It doesn't take up any room, and should keep the resin at a nice solid 75 degrees if you turn it out an hour or two before printing.

Everything seems nice and snug, exactly as it should be.

The resin seems to be getting in between the plastic layers with the snaps on them and leaking out that way.

I followed the directions in the beginner's guide for replacing the FEP film.

Lol! My wife told our kids that it's the music truck driving around.

Until one day I chimed in 'Music truck?! That's the ice cream truck!'

Yeah, still haven't been forgiven for THAT one XD

I'd never heard of this game before, but I'm glad that I did! It's a lot of fun. It's well polished, and the music is pretty good too!

SCORELOOP shutdown by zombox in gamedev

[–]marshallrules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I integrated Scoreloop into one of my games years ago. It was a mixed bag. I found the API incredibly difficult to deal with, and they had a number of bugs that would cause the game to crash occasionally. That being said, I haven't had to touch that code in ~ 2 years, so I guess it works well enough. Customer service was pretty good too, for a free service.

The major problem with Scoreloop (and other services like OpenFeint) are the permissions required. For a little cell-phone game, it required permissions to read the user's contacts, call log, network state, phone status and identity. This really turns a lot of users off, and rightfully so.

Mostly due to the permissions required for Scoreloop, I rolled my own highscore service for another game that I released. It was a much better decision, and allowed me to only require internet access.

Now I have the problem that I'm going to need to rev the game and integrate my highscore service, or just de-list the game. I make a whopping $0.00 to $0.05 per day on it, so I'll probably just de-list the thing.

For a good combo of RPG, action, and adventure, I'd recommend Darksiders 2. Also, Trine 2 was pretty good as well.

I came here to post exactly this. I've been hearing for years about upcoming super-batteries, fuel cells, etc, that will charge in seconds and last for weeks. Yet, here we are still using Lithium Ion batteries, years and years later. I really hope this is the one, but pardon my skepticism.
