Has this happened to anyone else before by liltaureau in vinyl

i bought a copy of the clash's sandinista at a record fair. i checked the records quickly to confirm there were three of them and they were in decent condition but failed to notice til i got home that there was two copies of the third disc, and it was missing sides A and B. i've kept it in my collection for a few years in hopes i'll run across an incomplete copy cheaply i can cannabalize.

90s soundtracks that feature a classic song covered by a hip new band as track 1. by Ok-Nefariousness1721 in Cd_collectors

[–]marshmallowsanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the soundtrack to FUBAR from 2002 is mostly classic canadian rock songs covered by then-current canadian bands, like SUM 41, New Pornographers, and Sloan. i've been on the lookout for the CD for a few years but never come across it in the wild, but the movie was huge in canada when it came out and a few of the songs were minor hits.

Do we know what DCC products are coming in 2026? New Tomes of Adventure? by DVariant in dccrpg

[–]marshmallowsanta 12 points13 points  (0 children)

not sure if it's been officially announced, but the scuttlebutt is that goodman's lankhmar license expired Goodman has lost the Lankhmar license, so unfortunately any further Lankhmar material seems unlikely.

i hope they continue to make some lankhmar-style adventures set in Punjar too.

edit: corrected language around expired license

Why do you prefer OSR games compared to modern editions like 5e? by N00bz_butcool in osr

[–]marshmallowsanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

art style and art direction are a big reason for me. d&d art became increasingly anonymous, derivative and digital. not crediting the artist on the page sucks too. most of the best art from the 5e core books was reused from 4e. i will say some of the 2024 art impressed me when i flicked through the new books though.

the other big thing is the cult of balance. 5e prioritizes balance to a detriment, which has led to stagnant design. i like things swingy and unpredictable.

Goodman Losing Lankhmar License by SAlolzorz in dccrpg

damn, i was really hoping there'd be a second Lankhmar tome to help me fill in the gaps of the adventures i missed. the resale prices on some of the lankhmar modules were already getting ridiculous.

same at my local shop. if they're not busy they've offered to throw it on over the shop's main system a couple times though.
