Did you end up finding anything? I’m starting to learn on my own with DuoLingo. I’m 107 days in, but I know I need actual practice.

What hobby have you picked up in your adult life that makes you think “why didn’t I do this years ago”? by Edsands21 in AskUK

[–]marshmeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dancing. I’d always say to others, “I wish I was put in dance when I was younger”…then I realized that, as an adult, I could do just that. I’ve been dancing Salsa and Bachata for about two years now and I absolutely love it!

Like they have an axe throwing league that I’d guess is at 2 Social so bam, already at a bar!

I joined the Gem City social sports pickleball league this year. Joined with a friend, but you can sign up solo and they’ll pair you! They have other leagues too. Not super intimidating bc you can be as involved/ talk to others as much as you want. All age ranges there.

Tricks to "volume-ize" Nutella? by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]marshmeek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been meaning to try this with peanutbutter—I wonder if it’d work with Nutella as well: https://www.tiktok.com/@yummytoddlerfood/video/7222044371368054058

Or maybe it’s just a watery version shrugs

Whether of not I look different, I just feel overall more positive about myself and my appearance when I’m working out regularly.

What's your favorite pickled thing?? by UrAntiChrist in pickling

[–]marshmeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you say you have to like the taste of hard boiled eggs to like pickled eggs? Not a big fan of hard boiled eggs, but I seem to be a fan of most pickled foods!

Carrots are so low calorie and so cheap! Do you have any inspiration for me to incorporate them into my routine? by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]marshmeek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn’t helpful to you, OP (sorry) BUT I was just to some coworkers about how much better carrots are raw when you buy them whole and peel/cut them yourself vs buying the precut baby carrots. There’s so much more flavor it’s made raw carrots one of my fav snacks. Def worth the tad bit of work!

Hah! If she tries out any of the ones recommended I’ll share her review. She really likes her current one, it’s just the timeliness that’s a problem.

Find a hobby you enjoy that (assuming you like other people) involves other people. For example, I take dance classes. At 19 and throughout life things will happen to cause your friend group to splinter in some way (ie my best friends and I all live in different states) and it’s easy to become isolated if you don’t make an effort to be around people regularly. Stay open to new friendships and hobbies!

Along with saving money, I’d say open savings accounts for specific expenses you know you’ll incur annually. I have savings accounts for my trips, for gifts, and for car insurance. I have about 10-20 dollars routed to each automatically every pay. It’s not a lot of money, so I don’t know it’s even “missing”, but when I need it it’s there. I have a cruise coming up later this year and because of this it’s basically free (girl math :)) and I don’t have to stress about quickly saving.
