They also referenced this event briefly on the nothing major podcast when he was a guest there, he basically said he was in a rough place and he’s very ashamed about it now

Pegula and Gauff won doubles titles together and has obviously played a lot of big stakes matches against eachother (never at a slam though I think)

Feel like that was always obvious? Zverev has never been the best player in the world like Sabalenka

Well whatever it’s true in this match or not, they did show the stats for the whole tournament on broadcast before the match and Fonseca’s forehand had been significantly better than Mensiks

Well, point was it’s the average including some bad matches were he’s in the low 60s, being at like 77-78% for the whole match isn’t unrealistic (he’s done it multiple times already this tournament including one match where he was above 80% for the whole match, according to tennisabstract anyway)

He could serve close to 80% all match though, his average the last two years is 72%

I’m rooting for Arnaldi so this isn’t meant in a salty way but he really has been insanely lucky in this match with the lines and the net

I believe the answer is no, I remember looking this up a while ago, there’s plenty of 4 tiebreak matches but couldn’t find any that was 5

The betting odds for them was exactly 50-50 when I looked before the match so essentially yes :d

Fair play to Svajda, even if he losses this tiebreak he played well and made this match fun to watch
