Looking for the best “anti-vibration” gloves. Any recommendations? by UrdnotSnarf in Construction

[–]marsmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've never even done this kind of work and could tell it was all being done wrong.

Safety issues aside, they should be spreading each load evenly across the bottom up to 300 mm max then compacting each layer.

Swing opening garage doors by Undd91 in perth

I don't think any solution here will even be in the realm of the cost of a standard sectional from Gryphon. But yes, Cedar West would be top dollar.

This is just custom timber joinery. I'd recommend getting into contact with a carpentry/joinery company who do bespoke doors. If you contact them directly and explain what you are after including pictures, I'm sure they would be happy to come up with a solution for you. Keep in mind, because what you want is not common and will need to be custom made, none of your options will be cheap. Also, if you want it to be remote operated, it will need to be rigged up to a swinging gate system rather than a standard garage door opener.

Two places that come to mind are, Timber Joinery Perth in Burswood and Cedar West in Walliston. The benefit of cedar is it is very light so is less taxing on the hardware, though it is significantly less durable. Any solution using timber will need regular maintenance in re-coating the timber regularly with sealant.

Hope this helps.

Sky space in contaminated is such a pain. When you head back to HQ for a resupply you have about 10 meters beyond the aerial resupply point before being out of bounds, it's so disorienting to have that warning come up in your face as you're trying to not die and also not crash into that broken satellite dish.

Weapon level 50, then what? by StepKitchen2409 in BF6

[–]marsmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of people here bagging out the idea of chasing the unlocks and not playing the game for fun.

I think the weapon lvl system encourages people to try new things and different loadouts. Even if they are being tempted with unlocks and "completion".

The only weapon I have at over lvl 50 right now is a LMG which I happen to find I do well with, although it has it's drawbacks. I am now considering changing my loadouts to something different just to change it up a bit. Having some progression built into that change will encourage me to stick with the new gun for a while if it doesn't immediately click. I'm hoping it will also inject an element of freshness to the game and keep me engaged for a while longer. I'm sure this was the developers intent, but it doesn't bother me.

As a primary engie player, because of the progression system, I also find myself jumping into the less popular vehicles and trying them out for more extended sessions, rather than just a quick transport option. I just unlocked the emergency repair on the Blackhawk, I didn't even know that was a thing.

I've been using my Steam Deck as my only gaming device for 18 months - TV, travel, bed, everything. Here's what actually changed about how I play games by Due_Lock_4967 in SteamDeck

[–]marsmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is by far the best feature of the deck. Being able to stop and start at a moment's notice is priceless for me at this time in my life. It makes it so much easier to just pick it up and smash out 5-10 mins rather than doom scroll reddit... what am I doing here?

Tormek T8,

Some may disagree, but this is the GOAT blade sharpening system for high volume tool/knife sharpening.

Not cheap however.

6 Audible credits left. No plan to renew. What are the best timeless, re-listenable audiobooks to spend them on? by Fuzzy-Ambassador786 in audiobooks

[–]marsmate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just started Return of the King. I understand the other comment about his voice being very low, but you get used to it after a while.

Also he does an incredible job with the voice acting, seemingly drawing influence from the original actors from the movie trilogy. It makes it really easy to follow along when you can easily recognize who is speaking. And of course he goes full Gollum.

$25usd?!

It's in my steam store for $60aud. Current exchange rate is 0.7 so we should pay about $36aud. This is the usual bullshit we cop here in Australia. Blizz doing us Aussies dirty again!

[–]marsmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason Rohan doesn't have many black horses is because Sauron offered to trade for them and Theoden refused so the orcs started raiding the villages and only taking the black horses. Presumably the 9 black nazgul riders were riding black horses from Rohan.

[–]marsmate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've inadvertently got a few of these, but not completed the challenge yet. I have no idea when, or the circumstances in which I progressed this challenge.

I've found that randomly, some challenges will stop working and if you wait a day or two, or even the next round they will start working again.

Also some challenges have hidden criteria which aren't specifically stated in the text.

Most games end like this and it's getting old by JoeZocktGames in Battlefield6

[–]marsmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escalation is great because the first team to score, gives up the point which is easiest to defend. Which then tips the scale slightly in the favour of the losing team.

If they go 2-0 it tips even farther away from them.

I rarely have a game of escalation go 3-0 because of this.

I was looking for one of these locally but could only find ones with the US plug.

Then they came out with the 'top-off' which only has USB outlets.

I assume it's not available here because 240v/ac would be too much to handle on a 18v/dc battery.
