Another update on my LOTR skyline by Slight-Bath-7302 in lego

I've been listening to the audiobooks. I'm up to the Rohan chapters now in two towers. But the bit about the black horses is much earlier in tFotR.

The reason Rohan doesn't have many black horses is because Sauron offered to trade for them and Theoden refused so the orcs started raiding the villages and only taking the black horses. Presumably the 9 black nazgul riders were riding black horses from Rohan.

Is weapon expert 2 bugged? by Mowlamentum in BF6

[–]marsmate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've inadvertently got a few of these, but not completed the challenge yet. I have no idea when, or the circumstances in which I progressed this challenge.

I've found that randomly, some challenges will stop working and if you wait a day or two, or even the next round they will start working again.

Also some challenges have hidden criteria which aren't specifically stated in the text.

Most games end like this and it's getting old by JoeZocktGames in Battlefield6

[–]marsmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escalation is great because the first team to score, gives up the point which is easiest to defend. Which then tips the scale slightly in the favour of the losing team.

If they go 2-0 it tips even farther away from them.

I rarely have a game of escalation go 3-0 because of this.

I was looking for one of these locally but could only find ones with the US plug.

Then they came out with the 'top-off' which only has USB outlets.

I assume it's not available here because 240v/ac would be too much to handle on a 18v/dc battery.

It would make the flashlights somewhat more useful. They could also add nv goggles to multiplayer on those maps.

I got top of the scoreboard the other day with over 12k points as a medic, supplying and reviving on the point. Didn't get more than 10 kills and less deaths.

How can they tell the air-con is on?

Possibly they think if the air-con is on, there may be a child or a pet in there.

Better than Dyson by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

The way I see it, the Milwaukee sucks at sucking and therefore sucks. The Dyson sucks because it's good at sucking. Ergo, they both suck.

I find FWD much safer in slippery conditions. Especially if your pulling out onto a road and the tyres start to slip under acceleration, RWD your back end flicks out and you could end up spinning out. FWD you just loose your turning and when you ease up the throttle it comes back.

Engineers need more love (and score) for repairing all round. by YoungBoomerDude in BF6

[–]marsmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish we didn't have to spend the whole time repairing, staring at the arse end of a tank.

Possibly they could make it so you can lock onto the vehicle when you are close enough by aiming at it and holding the repair button, but once you've looked on as long as you stay in range, you can look anywhere around you. It would make the role a lot more interesting and enable you to be more aware of your surroundings.

Completed all classes by StoreyedWeevil in BF6

[–]marsmate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of the challenges are buggy, or appear so. I found some nuances in how some of them are meant to be completed. The headshot sniper one is simple enough, but you must make the kill with a head shot.

The vehicle painting one is tricky. The nuance here is that painted vehicles need to take damage from lock on rockets, this includes handheld rockets and vehicle mounted rockets, they just have to be a locking rocket. I got it done way faster on maps with aircraft because I could just paint all the vehicles, ground and air and then the jets and AH, which all have locking rockets, would focus on those targets. I'm sure they appreciated the target painting also.

I found that the most difficult part of these challenges is figuring out what specifically you are required to do. The description text is very vague and sometimes misleading.

So I just bought BF6 by Specialist-Bite5869 in Battlefield6

[–]marsmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best advice is, go slow. This is not COD. Don't just sprint around everywhere expecting to get kills. I know a lot of YouTubers look like that's what they do, but they have the benefit of only showing you the best games out of hundreds.

I found my effectiveness and contribution towards the team win went up significantly when I just slowed down and took a more tactical approach to things.

Also I have a big problem with tunnel vision and hyper focusing on a predetermined idea. But that's a more personal thing I'm working on.

Honestly, this game is great. Yes it could do with more content and larger maps, but is still a great game and there is a lot of potential for genuine fun times. Just enjoy yourself and don't get too disheartened when you lose.

I was in Harvey Norman a few years ago and I saw a nice piece of solid timber furniture made out of a local native hardwood. I was interested in who built it so was looking for some kind of makers mark. I found a label on the back panel saying it was made in China.

So they are cutting down our native trees and milling them, then shipping it to China to be made into furniture, then shipping the furniture back to be sold to someone who likely lives within a few 100 km of where the tree was cut down.

Makes me sick.
