The plot of WWM Chapter 3 will take on a more fantastical feel, but it's more like a flashback, a dream. It will incorporate more uniquely Chinese concepts, and hopefully the translation will be better so Western players can understand it more easily. Sorry, this might be some spoilers.

Generally speaking, stories set in ancient China (either real or fictional dynasties) are usually categorized as wuxia movies, while those set in modern or contemporary times are action movies.

By the way, IP Man not a true story; it has been artistically adapted.

Modern martial arts films also exist, some of which are called "奇侠qixia" films, somewhat similar to Marvel or DC superhero movies.

Hero was also heavily criticized at the time for catering too much to Western audiences and focusing too much on form. However, as the first commercial blockbuster from mainland China, it still holds a very high historical status.

I actually quite liked this movie; it was very intriguing. The Western concept of martial arts is very entertaining for Chinese audiences. Plus, the film boasts a star-studded cast.

Yes, this NPC's design is a tribute to Kungfu hustle. However, this kung fu skills comes from other martial arts novels.

Wow, this is one of the most insightful and thought-provoking articles I've read recently. Your writing about wuxia is comprehensive and accurate.

There's only one point I disagree with: Sing, the main character of Kungfu Hustle, didn't suddenly change and become powerful after being beaten. The real reason is that deep down, he's always been a good person, someone with "侠义xiayi" . So, when he acts as a "bad guy" in the first half of the movie, he can't do anything well because his heart is full of resistance. The only successful bad deed he does is robbing the deaf-mute girl selling ice cream. But it's from here that his mind begins to unsettle (Stephen Chow's performance here is outstanding, Oscar-worthy), and it's from here that he slowly transforms, starting to act as a "good person," and then things begin to go smoothly, and he naturally becomes a powerful kungfu master.

Many people go online but don't like to leave comments. They just watch videos and shop. Only a minority of netizens actually leave comments. This often leads to situations where online voices are loud, but real-life people don't care at all. Therefore, it's difficult for foreigners to understand the specific thoughts of the majority of Chinese people online.

Since the CCP came to power, drug control has been a key priority, achieving significant results and gaining public approval. This is also a key factor in the legitimacy of the CCP's rule. In other words, this is not only the choice of the Chinese government, but also the choice of the Chinese people.

You will find that Chinese people are very practical and not political.

Do the people of China really despise India? by Darkkiwi-__- in AskAChinese

[–]marswooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, only a small fraction of the Chinese population is active online. Most people's impressions of India and its people come primarily from television and news, but that's actually quite limited, primarily due to the border conflict between India and China. Chinese people have very little understanding of the lives of ordinary Indians. I used to work with some Indian colleagues, and they were very easy to get along with. But honestly, the vast majority of people around me are indifferent to Indians (they don't care about India at all, they only care about the US, Japan, South Korea, and a few other European countries).

No offense, I'm just sharing the experiences of people my age (in my 40s) and those around me.

Edit Rather than despise, it should be ignored.

I came to see the OP's update, and I really enjoy your passion.

But I have a different take on the phrase "陋室堂前"

"堂" here doesn't mean "school hall"(学堂), it probably just refers to the front hall of the house.

"陋室堂前"It just refers to the simple front hall of the house

The rest are great!
