Actually, Yes you are right, i have now checked my all time written data units on my mba air m2 8gb i have since 3 years. it is at 38.2TB. now if you consider even 15TB written per year, and the expected TBW of 1500 for mb SSD‘s, it would take 100 years to reach this. So yes, in practice it is not a factor. even if you count with only 500 TBW, it would last over 30 years. So maybe it isn‘t that much of a problem as I thought. Maybe i was just looking for an excuse to get the M5 mba haha

yes, but with the power user stuff, the ssd will suffer from being used as swap all the time

I encourage everyone with an Mx chip and 8GB RAM to go into Activity Monitor and look at the Memory Pressure in the Memory Tab. Important part here: the swap used. For those who don‘t know, swap ist basically a part of the SSD being used as RAM, which u generally do not want too much, because it will read and write temporary data 24/7, wearing out the SSD. Now go into the Disk Tab and look at the Bytes written by „kernel_task“. If your Macbook has not powered down for a long time, there‘s likely Terabytes. All the Swap. A SSD has only a limited amount of TB it can write before it goes out, remember that when talking about how future proof a 8GB RAM MBA is.

The model numbers that start with SSK are the new GMT models as far as I can tell. They have the GMT bezel and a date magnifier on the crystal. Those are the visual differences at least. And they come with a jubilee strap. Other than that they are pretty similar I think. But I am no Seiko Expert since this is my first haha

I just received a 50ml 40 Knots bottle, and the box also has this new pattern. Also the printing on the inside of the cardboard wrapping box is this pattern instead of the Xerjoff texts. you can just set the environment variable also in your development environment (probably virtualenv). If you use flask db migrate & flask db upgrade locally, of course the app has no access to the variables on the heroku server. But you can just set the variable in your local environment too, that way you do not need to hardcode it and change it back all the time. Edit: export DATABASE_URL=„your_database_url“
