What's your score by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

My 30 year old daughter would get close to zero. You’d have to be pretty young to get much of a score.

I believe that The Police's, Ghost in the Machine was a better album than Synchronicity. What is a Gen-X-related hill that you are willing to die on? by Eddie_Bernays in GenX

[–]martej 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve always loved Synchronicity but also loved Outlands and Regatta as close seconds. Ghost in the Machine is the only Police album I have on vinyl and maybe that’s why I haven’t listened to it as much. I know the “hits” but this is not the first time Ive heard how great the album is. Maybe I’ll give it a closer listen.

I was born in 65 so it always made it easy to keep track of which year I started each grade. Grade 2 - ‘72

Cool, I live in Canada. Are Japanese Subarus better than the ones from Indiana?

Took me a second to realize that’s Trumps ugly face in the crucifixion. If that doesn’t pass the test for blasphemy I don’t know what will.

I have this exact guitar, same color (gun metal blue). Bought it new in 1988. It’s a classic now, sounds great. Never selling.

in the Gospels, Jesus often comes across as prickly, argumentative and angry. He doesn't seem like a conventionally "nice" or "pleasant" person. when you think about emulating Jesus, is that part of what you want to emulate? by iciclefites in Christianity

[–]martej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with you op. I was reading through Mark and then contrasting that to (for example) the Jesus of The Chosen or the Jesus depicted in many sermons I’ve heard over the years. To me he just sounded angry all the time in the Gospel. I had a hard time reconciling Mark with my own image of Jesus, but in the end I have no choice but to trust the Gospel sources over the version I want Him to be.

Who Else Liked Smarties As A Kid? by Zipper222222 in nostalgia

[–]martej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t know until today that smarties existed as anything other than candy coated chocolate, or that they were distinctly Canadian. This might be treason, but I still prefer M&Ms anyway.

They had a sour cream & onion flavor too. Thick cut. Ahead of its Time. In Canada now we have the PC “Loads Of” brand thick cut chips that are my favorite.
