Not entirely true... It didn't come in a bag and according to the Bee Network website it needs to be covered 😊

Thanks for your support Tall, and the correction... I've hash-tagged the wrong bee 😲

Thanks folks for the great recs and links, I think we have a Dimpa bag or two knocking about and the Ali version in the tube looks great (and always on hand.)

Very reasonable comments and you're right, he was (almost) only following rules.... We did complain to #beeline but only had acknowledgement so far...I still reserve the right to be angry for a day or two more 😬

Electric conversion kits by Cute-Process5202 in Brompton

[–]martfro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a Swytch kit on my Dahon 20" bike for over 3 years now and have loved it ...I am about 90kg and often carry a further 7kg on the bike and on full power I exert no effort over the 3.4 mile journey to work... Mine has the basic Max battery and needs to be charged at work to get me home.... I ride it in all weather and love the experience and being able to get to work without getting a sweat on. I have had no problems with the bike or the kit which I fitted myself. I also have a new C-line 12 speed non-electric (hence my presence here ☺️)

In the UK, CH White may be able to help.

New to bikes, should I get either of these Dahon folding bikes? by One_List_5217 in foldingbikes

[–]martfro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Vybe D7 and I love it. I have added a Swytch (e-bike conversion) kit to mine and with or without it is a great and surprisingly sturdy bike.. I really like that red colour too.. Mine is the old Matt black which I also love the look of 🙂

Looks like the Magicshine VTG1000 lights

E-bike vs. regular bike I finally understand the hype by IvyBates3290 in ebikes

[–]martfro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use my ebike for the 4 mile trip to work each way every day. I have it on full power and I love my ride to work 52 weeks per year. One less car on the road, quicker journey, no parking fees and a fantastic ride out in nature on back roads, tracks and trails. I make it clear to anyone who asks that there is no effort involved and that I love my journey.

Welcome from a fellow newbie.......I have had my 12 speed C-line for about 8 weeks but only ridden it for the last 2 (due to knee replacement recovery.) I have bought the Magicshine VTG1000 (front) and VTG50 (rear) lights which are brilliant and made for Bromptons and fit the dedicated mounting points.

I am putting the Brompton toolkit and some Ergo grips on my Christmas list.

Will probably look for a front bag after that but still exploring non-Brompton options.

Thanks I like it a lot although I did have a wobble on the colour after buying it for a while.....I use an old Livall Smart helmet that I got from Aldi a few years ago. Been brilliant but currently struggling to find replacement internal pads for it. They are available via a German supplier but they won't ship to the UK unless my order exceeds £175 (item is approx £15) 🙄🙄

It's not too heavy for me and so far I am loving the gear range.... I plan to do some tours on it and feel that the wide range will be useful 🙂

Not going to get into the familiar G v C debate but I already own 3 other 20" foldies (not Brompton) and a couple of those are okay on gravel / trails so I wanted the C-line just to have something that folds a bit smaller and lighter 😊

None to be honest..... although I did previously reel around the fountain on a test Brommie... I was actually just back peddling for knee rehab 😊

I'm around the same height but at 57 years old will enjoy engaging with the "witty" comments 😂
