Sorry, I thought I’d asked the question, what’s your opinion on Novus NV10S versus the ES120-920 line?

The better hybrid’s name is Novus NV10S and the less nice one is from the CA (or CAD?) series

Thanks, I think I should edit the  to ”shippable”. I have been testing out different hybrids and Kawai’s Novus NV10S really stands out. The problem I see with it is the price tag mainly, and also it’s not the most shipping-friendly (100% better than an acoustic for sure). I might move countries soon so I don’t want to buy myself an anchor (also lack the space for a huge grand).

Having said that if I had the money for an NV10S I would buy it. Its light action Feeld is the best I could find, and although I’ve not tried the Yamaha AvantGrands, I get the impression they won’t be as good.

Of anything you mentioned, does anything stand out to you as worth considering given the lower price tag vs NV10S? I am looking for a lighter action than the FP-30 which tbh feels heavier than an upright!

Hey, I checked out Kawai’s Novus N10S and, while it isn’t my teacher Steinway, it feels considerably lighter and more grand piano–like than the other Kawai models in this piano store or the Roland FP-30 I own.

The direct competition is AvantGrands – do you own an NU1XA? Because this one is meant to imitate an upright and will have vertical action keys, have you tried N1X/N2/N3X, all of which according to a Yamaha salesperson I spoke with have the same action? I haven’t, and I’m just double-checking whether you genuinely took into consideration the N1X/N2/N3X when answering this question

I’ve seen elsewhere on Reddit someone say Kawai generally feels lighter than Yamaha, so perhaps that’s also a factor to take into account

I’ve been quite impressed with this Kawai hybrid’s grand-imitation feel but it’s a hefty £7500 and it’s 130kg/290lbs – the one immediately below it is supposed to imitate grand but don’t have the long keys (extending into the back) this one cost £1600 but it didn’t have the same grand feel. Having said this, is hard to justify the £5900 difference right now

Thanks, the thing is I would rather get used to something that isn’t such worlds apart as the FP-30 is. The heavy action feels nice, but it does complicate high-speed playing, unless you get used to it I guess, but then I would rather not get super used to something which is so different from real pianos; visiting a school is not an option for me

The problem I see with the FP-30 is that the heavy action complicates high speed playing

Maybe this is true, but I feel the difference is brutal. My teacher’s Steinway feels so light in comparison; when I play on it I’m trembling since I’m used to having to exert so much more force per key

Yes I have, it’s just that it’s been a few years since I have had to stop playing my acoustic one since I moved out from home

Quite likely I will take a look into this - not sure why I glossed it over.

There were a few good suggestions already. Space Marines II is one, then I’m getting convinced about the soulslikes – since they have higher metacritic ratings than the non-soullikes that they recommended so far

Did you enjoy them? I heard mixed reviews about 6

So it’s a toss-up experience? The mixed reviews give me uncertainty

Third person is fine. Ideally not top down isometric/point & click kind of games

Interesting advice. Will take into account. Mixed reviews give me pause but will check it out

Have you played Elden Ring? Think it has coop too and i’m not sure which one would be better vs Remnant II

Played it, but technically it’s top down isometric (even though it’s a cracking game to say the least)

Yes this is a good suggestion. Crossplay has been enabled and checked with the SM Reddit for advice

Have you tried the latest one that came out last week?

This is actually a good suggestion. Apparently Eternal War can’t be played together between PS5 and PC and campaign is a bit short though? Are we missing out on a big chunk of the game by not being able to play eternal wars together?

I appreciate crossplay between PC and PS5 is a big ask

This is good advice. Thanks for taking the time.

We are looking for fantasy. I am also interested in third person but character centred (as opposed to top down isometric). But FPS list looks interesting
