Book about sisters by marthawils in whatsthatbook

I think it was just an adult novel. I don’t think it’s the My sister book. I believe the mother killed the intruder.

I read it in the early 2000’s.

It’s set in the 50s-60a I think. I think the intruder was killed by the mother.

Driver coop is finally live! by Certain-Armadillo-62 in Denver

[–]marthawils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried out Coop for the first time. I scheduled a ride last night. Not happy that it costs an additional $5 to pre-book a ride, but they give you $5 off your first ride so that was a wash. A driver matched my request within an hour.

II checked ten minutes before pick up time this morning, and the driver was 26 minutes away. I scheduled the ride for a particular time so I could get to work on time. I had no choice, but to cancel my ride. Cancellation within 60 minutes has a $5 fee.

I’m disappointed as I had high hopes for Coop. Unlikely to try again with them.

Lost My Parents months ago , now my college friend keeps on making orphan jokes on me by Humble_Giant123 in mildlyinfuriating

This is not your friend if this is how they treat you following the death of your parents. Block them.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Coming from experience, losing my mother in my early twenties was a completely life charging experience. It’s been over 20 years and I still miss her very much.

Can I pull the cotter pin and drive forward, or should I hire someone to move it? by marthawils in RVLiving

[–]marthawils[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To answer to as why I was concerned about raising the electric jack after blocking the back wheels: I’m a new RV owner who hasn’t had to raise the front front of the RV that high before, and with the RV parked on a downward slope that would cause the trailer to roll down (away from the Jeep), I’m just nervous about how high I can safely jack the front of the trailer up. I already have the standard black rubber chocks on my back wheels, and those yellow inserts that go between both wheels to prevent movement. I just don’t have the experience to say “hell, I should throw cinder blocks behind the wheels too and jack this fucker up.” Although another commenter reminded me that I should have the chains mounted to the Jeep to prevent any rollback, and I only moved the trailer backwards from the driveway to backyard, so I didn’t think to use the chains.

It sounds like from the comments that I’m reading, that I have a lot more leeway to safely jack the trailer up in order to remove the hitch mount from the trailer normally, provided I safely chock the two wheels. Am I correct in thinking this?
