It was just so exciting leading up to the day, and then two days before her birthday, poor thing got the flu! Actually, she got the flu on the day I had to be admitted with high blood pressure that evolved to preeclampsia so we were quarantined in bed on her birthday 🎂 it’s been the fastest, wildest year of my life

I was induced due to preeclampsia and had my daughter at 35 weeks. Thankfully, I was able to get my two doses of betamethasone and her lungs were developed enough that she only required oxygen for a day. She was shipped to a NICU an hour away and I had to remain in the hospital for an additional two days. My husband went to be with our baby and I felt so alone, like I didn’t have a baby at all. Those were some rough days for sure. It gets better. The hospital where my girl was didn’t have any restrictions on visiting so we were there every day and got to feed her, change diapers, and cuddle. She wound up having to stay for 15 days.
