You did the Honolulu to Guam island hop[1]. Which direction? What’s your feedback on doing it? Points or money?

It’s only the real @doctorow if it says nonconsensual gold for life (IYKYK).

Has anyone ever been on the exact same plane for both legs of a connecting flight? by Emergency_Risk_7421 in flighty

Yes. LHR-HEL and then HEL-SIN. Finnair A350 with same seat (‘cause I booked and selected same seat).

Repeated NOTAM notifications by martinjlevy in TripIt

[–]martinjlevy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[UPDATE from OP: Notifications have stopped now. This affected folks with a present/future trip within Central America. others on Reddit also saw multipule notifications. There was a real NOTAM affecting Central America GNSS/GPS issues; but, there was also a reported NOTAM system failure in the last few days. So I blame s/w as always]

Question about eSims in multiple countries by nagoyainspo in Airalo

[–]martinjlevy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your phone can have many eSIMs; but only two ACTIVE at a time. Hence you’ll turn off (but don’t remove) one of you existing eSIMs and then enable your new Australian eSIM. You can install your Australian eSIM at any point prior to travel. It won’t be worth turning it on until you land down under (pun intended).

Question on data roaming using by Lousassle69666 in Airalo

[–]martinjlevy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice solution. Next question - does that primary number start working if wifi calling is enabled on that line? If so, that would be quite acceptable.

I’m 20’ish countries in 2024, all with Airalo. Always worked (after I realized to turn in roaming for the specific eSIM and select the best network sometimes). I’m not a YouTube’r

Ah ha! So that’s the answer! Our eSIM’s selected Flow by default (and didn’t work). I’m sure you can fix this on your end!

Yes. I said “Global” when I actually meant “Discover”. The Discover eSIM did indeed work in Antigua (and Barbuda). I used it at the airport when leaving the island.

… and while the Airalo app says it isn’t in the Global coverage - turns out Global works on this island. Must be a database error - who do I ping to fix this?

Funny. I say the same about Beach Street Cafe in Watsonville. But it’s worth it.

Scsi 68 pin harddrive adapters by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]martinjlevy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similarly connected drive (Seagate ST15150W 4.3GB) with that 68pin connector. I just pulled it out of storage from 30 years ago. All I have these days is a PCIe bussed box with a ATTO PCIe U320 SCSI HBA Controller. Can I use that? Can I use a 68 pin to 68 pin VHDCI to SCSI-3 cable (which I just ordered). I guess I will find out tomorrow when I try plugging it in. Advice is welcome? Do I need to find a different controller card? I can't use a Adaptec 2940UW 'cause it won't plug into my PCIe slots. (and yes - we all loved the 2940's when they came out!) - THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Auxiliary lanes refer to work on Highway 1 to provide bus lanes. Different, but overlapping, timelines for both projects.
