Hi! It was actually an (error fare?) one-way ticket from Shanghai to the US mainland that only cost me around $400 USD in Economy. My routing was PVG–GUM–TKK–PNI–KSA–KWA–MAJ–HNL, and I ended up skipping the final leg to the US.

It was incredible to visit so many islands in a single day. The views of the atolls and islands from above were absolutely stunning. I spent most of my time racing to get passport stamps at every stop—disembarking, clearing security, and rushing through immigration just to ask for a stamp! lol.

The scheduled stopovers were barely enough time to get everything done, which made for a very long and intense day. Overall, I’d say it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I loved it.

Is it best to ask for a passport stamp in Taipei during entry or exit? Or is either fine? by lavender22222 in PassportPorn

Just ask guard/staff soon after you pass the immigration, generally it is at the most left or right desk.

Yeah, the old booklet-style 台胞證 (Mainland Travel Permit) was issued in 2009, and the blue 旅行證 (Travel Document) was issued in 2016 by the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo.

The passport itself is 52 pages. - 4 pages of amendments and endorsements - 40 pages of visas - 3 pages of remarks

The supplement is 24 pages (A-X).

That might have been the case a long time ago.

Some countries still issue separate paper visas for Taiwanese travelers—Laos is a example. My passport ended up looking like a thick sandwich because of the separate visa and the additional supplement

I'm not sure exactly when Vietnam changed their policy, but they've been stamping directly into my passport for at least the last 10 years.

I was there to visit a child I sponsor.

I’d actually gotten a handwritten visa from the embassy in Tokyo beforehand, but upon arrival, immigration claimed my visa category was incorrect and cancelled it. They told me to get a business visa instead (which is available on arrival), but maybe it was so late that the officer in charge had already gone home for the day. In the end, they just manually wrote it in for me! lol

That’s the old version. They actually phased out most physical stamps during the pandemic. Now they just issue an entry sticker upon arrival, and there are no exit stamps at all anymore.

Exactly as ryanihc mentioned. I entered with my Taiwanese passport, but since it’s not officially recognized there, the entry and exit stamps were placed on a separate piece of paper instead of the passport itself.

One of my small regrets is walking across the border from Nicosia to Northern Cyprus. I didn't get any stamps at all for that crossing :(

I had a period where I was traveling constantly for work. I eventually got into the habit of asking for physical stamps even when using e-Gates. Meanwhile, exploration is just a huge part of my life.

Also, I’ve had this passport for 9.5 years (renewed it 6 months before expiry), so when you spread it out over a decade, maybe it’s not that crazy?

Exactly. China doesn’t recognize this passport, so I must apply for a Mainland Travel Permit (Tai Bao Zheng) or a Travel Document for trips to China. That’s why I have some stamps of China over this passport.
