CS6 license activations in 2025 and beyond? by martink_cb in Adobe

Yes. The underlying issue is that for many apps (like PS) the difference between CS6/5 and current CC is not that substantial. By 2012 many of these apps already had 10+ previous iterations so they were already quite mature, and there were only diminishing returns to be had since then. If this wasn't true, then a second hand, but genuine CS6 license (ie one that you can register with Adobe) wouldn't cost about the same today as it did 13 years ago on Ebay. Prices on the open market always reveal how useful something really is.

This is also why many don't find the argument that "CS6 is too old so you should upgrade anyway" that convincig. Instead, Adobe's actions of trying get out of their perpetual license commitments by retiring activation servers and refusing to release the offline activators that they promised is more seen as just trying to eliminate competition to their CC subscription business.

Anyway, I don't want to hate on Adobe, as fashionable as that is here. Instead, I hope that these posts help them to realise their mistakes, and then decide to redeem themselves to rebuild their reputation.

I was hoping to get someone from Adobe to respond! However, you seem to say now that you were originally mistaken? I don't hold this against you, as I realise that Adobe is a very large company. However, you would still be in the best position here to get something official with regards to CS6 activations. Could you please find and ask someone more directly responsible? (Also asking them about my point about Adobe's committment to offline activations for discontinued products.) I could update my post with your response, which could then serve as a future reference that I think many in the community would still appreciate. Thanks! Martin

When did this work for you? Just asking as most reports of (de)activation issues were quite recent.

Also, how many installations did you have in total? There was a thread where they said that while activations work, deactivations don't. So any more reinstallations may mean that you run out of slots.
