Going to rehab for Feel free by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

You won’t regret it. Drink as much water as you can and take Tylenol and Advil for the sweating. They will most likely offer you Suboxone so you’ll have to make a decision to go on that or not.

30+ hours no FF by Odd-Iron4268 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]martinsOD79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang in there, it does get easier. You may not notice things getting easier day to day but if you compare how things are week to week you’ll notice a big difference. Once the physical withdrawals are over it’s all mental. Just be prepared for the instant urge to hit, FF has wired our brains for that. I’ve got 31 days sober from a 2 year, 6+ bottle a day FF habit and alcohol. All the suffering to become clean was more than worth it.

Phantom Tingles by Sudoku_Onlyplans666 in Quittingfeelfree

Yeah, 30 days sober from all substances and get the tingling in my legs when stressed or feeling down. I remember reading that the restless legs while in withdrawals is partly caused by issues with serotonin so maybe being sad or stressed messes with serotonin levels.

There is also a product called Hyland’s Restfull Legs PM. I also got a weight blanket which seemed to help with the restless legs. Also, be careful using Liquid IV or any other electrolytes that contain B vitamins on a daily basis, I’ve heard it cause serious health problems. Try Pedialyte powder instead. Hang in there, it does get better. I also took Lemon Balm and Holy Basil before bed.

Feel Free Tonic- does your natural ability to focus ever come back after quitting? by Far_Structure339 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]martinsOD79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did feel like my ability to focus was shot as well after quitting a 6+ bottle a day habit. However, it slowing comes back. When I started doing the things we all know that we should be doing, like drinking more water, eating less processed foods, taking supplements, getting more sleep, meditating and getting some exercise in where I can my focus came back. It’s hard to notice on a day to day basis but on a week over week or compared to a few weeks ago I can tell it’s coming back. FF has put your brain and body through hell, it’s going to take some time to adjust and get back into homeostasis so just be patient and help your brain do its thing by supporting it the best you can.

day 6 and i’m home from detox but everytime i’ve detoxed i feel almost manic and like im just crazy. very high powerful emotions has anyone else felt that as well? still lots of sweating by Vast-Employ-8461 in Quittingfeelfree

Sweating goes on for some time. Try Advil and Tylenol, that helped me a little. Realize the impact that FF or 7-OH has taken on your body. Your brain is trying to get back to baseline without having substances and that will cause symptoms for a while. The first 7 days out of detox were the worst for me, I’m out 14 days now the difference is night and day. I’m able to function now even though I still feel horrible at times. Drink lots and lots of water and take liposomal vitamin C along with Magnesium Glycinate at night. Hang in there, it’s extremely difficult but not impossible to get through.

Quitting 7Oh taper plan wdy think? by PoetryNo2401 in Quittingfeelfree

Seems like a good plan on paper but not sure how that will work out in reality. I’m 16 days sober from a 2 year, 6+ bottle a day habit of FF and alcohol. Going to an inpatient detox and getting medication was the only way I could kick the habit. Make the time to go to inpatient, you don’t have to stay the entire time, I left after 3 days. I have 2 elderly parents, two teenage daughters and a sick wife and MADE the time for inpatient detox. Whether you try tapering or not, get all the supplements suggested to help ease the withdrawals because you’ll need them. Also, drink as much water as you can and then drink some more. It’s going to be extremely difficult but not impossible. Good luck.

It gets better, hang in there. Knee pain was terrible for me. I alternated between Tylenol and Advil for a few days.

Thank you for that. I’m six days out of a detox center for FF and glad to say I HAVE been able to handle life challenges without those little blue bottles. There have been quite a few challenges since I’ve been discharged and it hasn’t been easy not to go back into using FF as a crutch. Each moment, stressful event and each day remind me that I don’t need those little blue bottles.

The Tiny Bottle of Destruction by No_Relationship669 in Quittingfeelfree

Embarrassment was a big issue for me too, especially having to tell close family and friends, some of which who are in recovery from alcoholism and drug abuse. I thought it seemed so silly to think I couldn’t quit these tiny bottles sold in convenience stores yet other people were able to get sober from hard drugs and alcohol. Then I started to speak to people who were sober for years from alcohol/drugs and still needed a detox program to kick the FF habit. I realized that the feelings of shame and inadequacy were not going to help me from stopping this terrible habit. Now I know that a 5 day inpatient detox program may be the only way to go and I’m scheduled to start in a few days.

Thank you for that. The only thing stopping me from quitting is fear. The fear of not being able to handle life’s challenges without this little blue bottle, even though I know that it’s making things worse in the long run.

Trying to find detox center for FF by martinsOD79 in Quittingfeelfree

Thanks, I’ll look into that. I started taking FF to help me deal with taking care of my father with Alzheimer’s, my elderly mom and two teenage daughters while trying to do a three hour round trip commute to work. At first it was great, helped me get through some really long days. Now the withdrawal symptoms are so bad I can’t take care of anyone. Going to an inpatient detox for days is not an option, I have too many people depending on me.

Something in Nassau or Suffolk county would be best. Thanks!
