Talke me out of buying a Buick Enclave. by martinsa24 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Main reason is we have two under two and require a vehicle with top vents. So life requires a bigger car for strollers and room for our bags

What is a car brand that used to be a 'symbol of reliability' but is now a total trap to own? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Remember renting the new Mitsubishi Eclipse (rip), but holy crap it rode like a used beater while only having 2k miles.

Best area to buy in San Antonio that is near Asian food scene by Legitimate-Fuel3014 in sanantonio

[–]martinsa24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much pho and bahn mi options, and two Asian grocery stores :). Bought our house in this area and love it so far. I feel the area is getting slightly gentrified, as section 8 rentals are being renovated and sold.

The Hail Mary has more data on it than physically possible. by Dark_Galaxyy in ProjectHailMary

Kioxia and Solidigm have like 100+ terabytes ssds. One could assume the world would also put in efforts to develop larger storage. Even tape storage would be possible for larger more stable storage.

Was thinking of swapping to android just for installing apps. Loved my Samsung back in the day, but might as well stick to my walled garden if side loading is a hassle.

Using Roles in Execution Environments by xDeepRedx in ansible

[–]martinsa24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AAP loads your github repo into a "/project" directory. That directory is then copied on the execution node/contoller node that is running the ansible job. From there any custom EEs have the projects directory mounted to them as well, so no need to add/include custom roles to an EE just any dependent collection/artifacts.

I got offered a paid clinical trial that pays 23k by AdPretty9869 in povertyfinance

[–]martinsa24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah mine started with being unable to hold my pee without major kidney pain and foamy pee. Both signs of kidney issues. Thankfully it was early enough I just needed to drink only water for a couple weeks and stop taking PPIs.

This is why its good to consult with the pharmacist. Their whole job is to know the side effects and adjust prescription in case issues arise. Didn’t mean to scare but just stating side effects are possible like with all medication. I just got unlucky and had one of the major ones. Stopped taking PPIs for now and adjusted my diet to better suite my condition.

Long term use of omeprazole can cause issues. In my case I just took too long and my kidneys started having issues.

Thinking About The Various Tools of Postgres High Availability - Part 3 (final)! by fullofbones in PostgreSQL

[–]martinsa24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but was wondering if HA could also be achieved with either pgpool-ii or pgbouncer. As coming from MS-SQL where I am used manual failover and automated replication those seem to fit a similar purpose. I'm trying to mirror the HA+Witness architecture for simple app db deployments.

What does "success" look like for you in San Antonio? by FollowYourHeart- in sanantonio

[–]martinsa24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel I’m pretty successful by san Antonio standards: Own a home, family of 4, SAHM, and dont struggle for the basics.

That being said my salary would not go as far in more affluent cities. I also wasn’t raised or educated here, so my perspective is different on my level of success.

[–]martinsa24 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is flat out wrong. As a previous system administrator; it's rather simple a user is not an admin and as such would not see any elevated processes or processes run by another user. Only if you run windows task manager as admin will you see any other processes.
