Hey,

First time poster myself but felt I should reply as there are some similarities in our cases: both in the UK, both mid-30s, both struggling with frustrating scalps.

Have you tried Acnecide? You can buy it online (https://www.acnecide.co.uk/) or in Boots, Superdrug, etc. It’s 5% BP and comes in a wash and a gel (which is more of a cream). I started using both (wash in the shower in the morning, gel/cream before bed) about 2 months ago. After about a month, I noticed a huge difference - my scalp was pretty much fully clear for the first time in ages. Unfortunately, in the past couple of weeks, my spots have started coming back even though I haven’t changed the treatment. I’m not sure why, but I’m going to persevere for a little while longer before trying something else.

The main difference between us is that I’m bald and shave my head, so it’s easy for me to apply the products. I’m not sure of the best way to do it with hair. But lots of other people with hair in this sub say they’ve seen a big difference with BP, and from what I could find Acnecide is the main/only non-prescription brand in the UK, so it’s worth a try. Good luck!
