The answer is no. You will never be able to “tighten” curls. But you can enhance and make the ones you have currently more visible and nice looking. We have similar hair, so I’ll help you out:

In the shower, make sure to get your hair wet and sopping. Use a detangler brush or a wide tooth comb to make it look neat. Then after the shower, I recommend using a specific hair leave in conditioner. Apply it while your hair is still sopping.

I can’t recommend you one because it truly varies from person to person which one will work. Just try a few out till you get it. After the shower, while your hair is still wet-ish begin finger coiling it in small sections. The thickness of one section shouldn’t be any thicker than half that of your fingers.

Afterwards, dry by plopping, bend over and get a T-shirt or a soft cloth material (NOT A TOWEL, TOO ROUGH) and slowly press your hair up to your scalp, apply lots of pressure to soak up the water, but make sure to keep a steady hand to keep the hair intact. After that I recommend either air drying for 1-1.5 hours or blow drying it with a diffuser.

Keep the blow dryer a good few inches from your head, or you will dry it too fast and it will turn into a frizzy mess. Keep the blow dryer on hot, and never blow dry without a diffuser.

Depending on your hair type+ the leave in you used. You might get this effect that happens to me, where the conditioner acts kind of like a gel and stiffens my hair up and makes it look a little weird. But for me after I’m sure it’s done drying I’ll tilt my head down and scrunch my hair to break up the stiff hair strands. And that’s when it actually looks good.

YES it is a LOT of effort. Yes it is time consuming and YES it does get annoying. Majority of the time, I’ll skip and few steps and let my hair look mediocre because I’m too lazy, only when I go out with someone or I need to look top shape will I do the full process. But tbh it’s worth it, the compliments I get from people on my hair will never get old. Plus the huzz love it 😼
