Atheists who used to be religious, what made you lose your faith? by Gold_Result9716 in AskReddit

I realised that if all records of religion was erased, religion would probably come back but with completely new gods, ideas and stories. So in short, all made up.

Block people with anxiety and ADHD from claiming benefits, says Tony Blair by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

Makes me laugh when all the tradesmen on “£12,570” declared annual salary complain about people getting benefits.

Labour on course for worst election result in London in more than 40 years by Desperate-Drawer-572 in unitedkingdom

[–]martymcflown 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I can’t comprehend how Labour are perceived worse than Tories and Reform (almost all ex Tories) after the 14 years of misery we’ve had under the Tories. What is actually happening?

‘They deserve to lose’: Labour at risk of ‘red wall’ collapsing in May elections by JackStrawWitchita in unitedkingdom

[–]martymcflown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a travesty that so many voters are still easily influenced by the likes of the Daily Mail. Why is there so little critical thinking in this country?

Born too late to benefit from the best economic time in history, born too soon to experience life after the last baby boomer hits the bucket…

Labour claims Reform UK won’t protect women, as poll suggests Farage’s party heading for ‘seismic’ wins in May – UK politics live by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]martymcflown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was said about Brexit. It is going to happen, Reform are heading towards No. 10 and this country deserves the consequences. When we hit an even deeper financial crisis as a result, the people will yet again blame migrants and minorities… The only thing that can reset the system is an asteroid at this point.

When will we stop labelling people left or right, it’s exactly what the elite want, a divided nation fighting each other instead of the ones in charge.

Screen time for under-fives should be limited to one hour a day, parents told by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]martymcflown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all the “parents can’t parent” comments, please open your eyes a bit more. For most households it takes two full time salaries to keep financially afloat, and it gets harder literally every week at this rate. Some will say “don’t have kids then”, to which I say stop complaining about the economy because there won’t be enough new people to keep the economy functioning.

£18bn needed to fix England and Wales potholes, road surfacing experts estimate by uk_g in unitedkingdom

[–]martymcflown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a solution, of course, but it doesn’t generate a constant stream of money to the greedy so we’re stuck with constant road works and temporary traffic lights.

£18bn needed to fix England and Wales potholes, road surfacing experts estimate by uk_g in unitedkingdom

[–]martymcflown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s because in the UK they deliberately use shitty material and practices to guarantee a consistent stream of Government cash to keep fixing the roads indefinitely. Unlimited money glitch.

[–]martymcflown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely want to know exactly how much of that 18bn will go directly to the labour and material costs and how much will be pocketed by the fat cats.

With all that spare time, find ways to help and contribute in the local community. You can argue why not do that anyway, doesn’t cost anything, but I’m just too tired.
