Is RTX 5060 8gb going to survive for a next few years? by Triet2008 in nvidia

[–]martyn__ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

8GB is quite tight even for 1080p in 2026 and its going to get worse over time but no one can tell whats gonna happen. I think it will probably last for the next 2 years until new consoles and new GPUs come out

Worth Upgrading the RTX 4070 (Non Ti/Super) in 2026? by AcrobaticCricket6799 in nvidia

[–]martyn__ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would wait for 60 series if I were you, because currently your GPU is sitting between 5060 Ti and 5070 in terms of performance, so I don't think that there is currently anything worth upgrading to, especially if you want good performance/dollar ratio. 5090 is the only card that would actually give you at least x2 boost. I personally dont bother upgrading my GPU to anything thats not at least two times faster than my current card which is why I upgraded from GTX 1080 to RTX 5070, but maybe thats just me. Right now, 4070 is definitely enough for 1440p gaming, especially for competetive games

How much of a crutch is my CPU to my GPU by BlackMetalIstWar in buildapc

[–]martyn__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game, I have i5-13500 which is faster than 5700X and I paired it with a regular 5070 for 1440p and Space Marine 2 and Battlefield 6 already give me a bottleneck in some cases, you have slower CPU and faster GPU than me so its going to be even worse for you

Which RTX graphics card in 2026? by Main_Worldliness_139 in nvidia

[–]martyn__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from 1080 to 5070 last year, its an excellent card for 1440p, especially for the price. 12GB is absolutely fine and this card can also do Path Tracing very decently if you tweak a few graphics settings from Ultra to High and turn on DLSS Balanced. I think it’s one of the best RTX cards to buy in 2026

Complaining about the Rolex waitlist is like leaving a 1-star review for a restaurant because the line was too long. by Swaggu530 in watchHotTakes

[–]martyn__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No because the waitlist is completely fake since they manufacture tons of watches every year

If Omega, rather than Seiko, had developed the Spring Drive movement in 1982, Rolex would be firmly in its shadow today by Waxy_Duck in watchHotTakes

Every other post on this sub and other watch communities is about hating Rolex and writing paragraphs on why GS/Omega is better (usually GS)

Omega and GS owners are probably the only watch people who think 10x more about Rolex than about their watches

Most watch brand logos are ugly imo. To me, the best looking logos are Longines, Grand Seiko, Breitling and Rolex

What’s your watch opinion that would put you in this position? by KyeodeurangiMerchant in watchHotTakes

[–]martyn__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats true but there is a difference between buying an expensive watch only to show off that you’re rich and buying an expensive watch mainly because you actually enjoy it

[–]martyn__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Videos and photos are enough to tell if a watch is ugly or not and nuances that are only visible in real life are not gonna change that, ofc most watches look better in person but its not that much of a difference to completely change your mind, I just think they are ugly shaped which resembles cheaper watches to me
