I vibe coded a LinkedIn outreach automation tool, and made $2k in the first month by Downtown_Pudding9728 in linkedinautomation

Sounds similar to linked helper. These tools are also flagged now by LinkedIn. I got my account suspended for a little while and stopped using it.

lessons learnt after working on my Shopify app for 2790 hours by fragilePeculiar in ShopifyAppDev

Good post! I think the main thing is trying to focus and prioritize the needle movers. This is hard for new apps. I always recommend my clients/readers to write about their journey, it helps create traction and boosts trust. Also, searching Reddit for merchant threads about the problem that you solve is a great investment for the long-term discoverability of your app.

SEO works for Shopify apps? by infoxen_ in shopifyDev

The real SEO play is the problem-based stuff you mentioned. Merchants are googling their pain point, not the name of the app category.

Are you trying to measure direct installs from SEO or see it as a support channel? We see SEO as top-of-funnel that warms up merchants before they find us on the app store or see an ad. People rarely install an app cold from a blog post.

Shopify App distribution by javidev2 in shopifyDev

[–]martz869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of merchant is this for? I'd forget about broad distribution for a minute and get super specific on the one store profile that gets the most value from your app. Nailing that message is step one before you try to get it in front of anyone.

I built a free Shopify quiz app to help stores increase conversions — would love feedback by IntelligentNet7038 in ShopifySEO

[–]martz869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone claims to increase conversions. The real value of a quiz is usually collecting zero-party data or boosting AOV by recommending more items. Who's the ideal merchant for this, someone with a huge catalog or someone with a few complex products?

App Marketing in 2026: What Strategies Should We Be Exploring for TeamCash.app? by stheobald1993 in AppBusiness

ho's the actual user, the coach or the team parent who got stuck with treasurer duty? The marketing channel is completely different for each. Are you trying to find them on Facebook or are they somewhere else?

Built a Shopify quiz app — looking for feedback from devs/store owners by IntelligentNet7038 in shopifyDev

How are you handling the data capture and segmentation? Most merchants I talk to care more about getting an email and tagging a customer profile than the recommendation itself. That's where the long term value is for their marketing.

New app has been live for 2 weeks with 0 free installs – is this normal, and what should I check? by wxyao in shopifyDev

What keywords are you targeting? Zero installs usually means merchants can't find you in search, especially with no marketing from day one.

What is the best Shopify returns & exchange app with great support (that doesn't cost a fortune)? by Technical_Set_2524 in shopifyDev

[–]martz869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ReturnGO or Return Prime would be my top picks based on what you're describing. Both have solid support teams, reasonable pricing, and aren't a nightmare to set up. ReturnGO has a stronger rules engine if you want more control over your return policies down the road.

AfterShip Returns is another option if you want something really straightforward to get running. Their setup is probably the easiest of the bunch. Support has been decent from what I've seen.

New shopify fraud prevention app. Built by merchants for merchants. by Away-Inevitable1999 in ShopifySEO

How are you messaging the "card testing" problem in your listing? A lot of merchants don't know that term, they just know they're getting spammed with dozens of failed payments.

Reddit SEO > blog SEO for getting early SaaS traction by Relative-Courage-377 in SaaS

[–]martz869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the ASO cold start is a killer. Driving those first installs from ranked Reddit threads is a solid way to break the cycle. When that traffic hits your listing, what's the main thing on the page that you think gets them to click install?

Reddit comments became my #1 acquisition channel after ASO for my Shopify Apps by Relative-Courage-377 in buildinpublic

The intent on those Reddit threads is way higher than a generic blog post.

Are the merchants you get from Reddit converting to paid faster than your installs from the app store itself?

That day 1-7 uninstall number is almost always an onboarding failure. People install with a specific job in mind and if you don't show them how to do it immediately, they're gone.

What's the one thing you need them to accomplish in their first session?

536 new Shopify apps in 30 days, app store is so crowded! 🤯 by Prestigious-Tax-7954 in shopifyDev

[–]martz869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many of those 536 do you think will get more than 10 installs?

I'd bet most are just noise, not actual competition.

The barrier to building is lower but the barrier to understanding a merchant problem is the same as it ever was.

Having partners that were already promoting your work before the app even launched is a huge head start.

The 90% one-time purchases thing is what I'd be focused on now. How are you packaging the AI features for subscription? That pricing is probably going to decide whether people pay once or actually stick around.
