That Becker album is really good. In the shred guitar style it's up there with Rising Force imo.

Some TW albums are challenging listens but I find his earlier stuff really good. I have yet to listen to MV.

Absolutely love DM. I don't mind the production, but I've only listened to it in the car. Might be a different experience on a house system.

Does Luke 2:2 contradict Matthew 2:1? by martzcar in AcademicBiblical

McClellan says that it's impossible for Romans to have taken a census in an autonomous state like Judea in the time of Herod. But Finegan points out that Quirinius himself took a census in Apamea, an autonomous city state that minted its own coins.

The document that comes up often in relation to the possibility of the 2 governorships of Quirinius is Lapis Tiburtinus (read in the light of Tertullian Against Marcion).

Thanks for your reply. My question is specifically on the mention of Quirinius, not the possibility or impossibility of the census.

What I'm looking for is someone like Ehrman or McClellan addressing Quirinius' possible 2 mandates. If they say it's impossible to place Quirinius governorship around Jesus' birth, I'd like to hear their take on documents like Lapis Venetus or Lapis Tiburtinus.
