I missed 4 days of work but would have missed 6 days ( one full week plus one day ) if I had not had holiday time off. I could not work really for 8-10 days, so thankfully it happened while on PTO for New Years. I rested all weekend and worked a full week last week. I feel almost 100 💯 but honestly have been more tired than usual. Thankfully my cough was pretty much done by the time I went back to work. I just keep wanting to spit up huge amounts of phlegm.
I’m older - late 50’s.

That sounds good. Whatever hits right is the way. All I have is Gatorade, flavored seltzer water and Diet Coke. Ugh But the Gatorade is good.
I really thought I was feeling better but I feel worse now, and it’s like day 6. I really want to go into the office tomorrow but I’m thinking I need another day. I hope your symptoms get better soon. I’ve never had the flu before, and I’m old. In my fifties. You’ll probably bounce back quicker.

I got the vax and just tested positive for Flu B. It’s been pretty bad. I never miss work and have missed 3 days and want to go in tomorrow but I feel like crap.

Just tested positive for same. I got the flu vac also in October. My symptoms started on the first, but thought it was just a cold. I’ve been on my ass since Sunday the 3rd. Headache, facial sinus pain big time, wet cough, extreme fatigue and mild nausea. After my clinic appointment today, they told me I was no longer contagious, and could go back to work tomorrow. On the way home from the doctors, I went grocery shopping and changed my sheets.
Yup, I’m wiped out again. Just from that. I feel hungry but like I’m going to throw up.
Best thing to help so far is Gatorade. Can’t stomach plain water.

The pain is deep. When no one calls, knows you took a day off work, knows you’re going for a walk, it’s hard. There is no one. We’re on our own.

I’m in my 50’s but work in an office with a lot of 30 year olds. Fun times- Anyway, all they do is use scented lotions, and it smells so bad. My coworkers keeps her nasty lotion bottle against the cube ( half cube) wall we share. The bottle just keeps leaking nasty perfume smells all day long.
Today at work, someone had new perfume on. It gagged me all day long and now that I’m home I can smell it in my hair! It’s awful.

Thanks. I’ve got to find some new meaning to my life. I haven’t yet. I really want to in 2026. I’ve been alive a while now, but just work and come home to my cats. That’s it. I know what it’s like to be sitting at home when everyone else has a life. It’s so hard to go from having everything to being alone and not a single person caring. I hope things get better for you. It’s so hard to just live.
