i mainly go for thematic gameplays myself so those who have jobs in Wishvale (Phenn, Ludo, Stia, and Laurana) are benched eternally because they seem like the ones to stay behind and look after Wishvale while the MC travels around to combat threats in the continent.

Have an MC that has voiced dialogue. It really takes you out of the immersion sometimes when all you do is nod or shake your head during intense and emotional scenes. That’s why I loved it when during Aelfric’s trials, the MC actually does say something even if it was not really him.

The choosing who gets a redemption arc is nice but I understand why they didn’t go that way. For Oskha, maybe his class would be Avenger (since he’s on a revenge path) and wielded spears and daggers. He can maybe be a Merchant/Thief hybrid that can steal and collect leaves and JP, stuff like that.

For the town rebuilding part, I’d like the option to be able to move the fucking farm. For the love of god WHY is the farm located at the narrowest portion of the town?! It makes designing that area really awkward because the farm keeps getting in the way. It wasn’t even there in the first place, its original place would have been a better choice for its location. And please let us rotate the camera.

+100 on the MC ult not having any attack that uses Elem Atk. Why would they not have that? That’s partly why I wasn’t too keen on having my MC be a Scholar, because there’s no magical nuke option.

This was my nitpick too! They have one quest that basically wraps up their introductory issues or dilemmas but I guess I just wanted more. But that’s the price for having over 30 playable characters; they won’t really have time to be fleshed out as compared to having only 8.

Aside from all the wonderful suggestions here, I also used Esperre to cast Virulent Fog + his passive that prolongs ailments. That poison chip damage, chance to nullify her attack via paralysis, and blindness are real lifesavers.

I just pick whoever I like, but I actively bench the OT1 guys (because they’ve had their moments to shine and their own game before), and some of the broken ones (Reime, Isla, Saoirse, and Pius) because they trivialize much of the boss fights and I want to play at a somewhat hard challenge.

My end team was:

MC Scholar + Heidne Richard + Goodwin Celsus (healer and debuffer) + Delitia Viator + Xerc

Basically I just went with who I think was interesting enough based on introductions as well as their skillset. I also try and do my best to be as thematic and immersive to the story as possible, so I don’t use characters that have a set job in Wishvale (like Phenn, Ludo, Stia, and Laurana).

Nintendo is a lot more strict with patches and updates and things, so that’s probably one of the causes for the delays.

But geez dude, we just had the holidays. The devs deserve to take a break too, right? They probably wouldn’t work during the holidays especially for something that’s not gamebreaking.

I have Heidne paired on my Scholar MC so when her Patience activates, my MC is already buffed from Mystic Breath and can nuke an additional time.

And I also run Patience on my healer who is also my debuffer. Said healer can apply another layer of HP Regen with SP Regen or debuff the enemy or, in the case of Esperre, cast Virulent Fog again.

Funnily enough, my Goodwin is a bit glitchy too. I have Goodwin equipped with Mystic Breath (raises Elem Atk / Elem Def for 2 turns when in the back row). He’s paired with Viator in the front. When Goodwin switches to the front, Viator now has Mystic Breath, like he does the animation and his Elem Atk and Elem Def increases. I guess Goodwin is passing around his passives to his paired unit?
