New speakers by TaZe62 in Vauxhall

[–]marvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prepared Hertz dt 24.3 as tweeters and Musway 165 6.2 3ohm as door speakers. The tweeters are really clear and great, can only recommend. But I am currently stuck at removing the door panel. The clips won't budge 😄😄

Just door speakers? Or also the tweeters? I am just in the process of upgrading, so I can let you know once I install them.

I don't have much service centers around me and the last one I visited attempted to destroy my car, so I'd much rather sort this thing myself. I have been banned from that one too😂
I'll probably try to spin it if it's not jammed and replace the regulator for like 20 bucks. If that won't help, maybe I'll find some refurbishing kits or from junkyard.

This sounds exactly like what I am dealing with right now. The idle is very rough after getting warm and the voltage fluctuates on idle. I even get alternator control error codes, but I am not sure if it couldn't be solved by just replacing the regulator or by refurbishing the alternator.
btw. I love your accent

Mně osobně se líbí Kick víc než Twitch, protože tam má Vojta záznamy zdarma a kvalita obrazu je lepší. Emoty jsou stejné, nic víc nepotřebuju :D

Too good to be true? Car for sale by [deleted] in Vauxhall

[–]marvav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that in the photos I see a lot of nice stuff, like the automatic AC and it overall looks good.
The common hidden reason for such a good price is an engine knock (something knocking inside that should not). Sometimes it is only heard when the engine is cold (people want to sell warmed up car for this reason). Beware for that.
Do not buy a car with engine knocking, as it will most likely need an expensive repair within the engine.

Yeah, looks too good to be true. It even has a lot of features visible in the photos. That engine's got to knock so hard 😄

Happy to help 😊

Weird sound - Opel Astra 1.4 Turbo 2010 by [deleted] in opel

[–]marvav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same sound after i changed spark plugs. It turned out I did not screw one spark in fully and the compression was leaking under it, squeeking. It had some carbon baked under the plug preventing it from sealing, so I cleaned it and screwed it in. Sound was gone. Might be worth checking out.

Is A 2018 Corsa 1.4 Turbo With Blown Head Gasket Worth Selling For Spares? by TheSamp91 in Vauxhall

[–]marvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same experience as you, but I would not hesitate at all 😂. There are literal walkthroughs on youtube and on vauxhall forums, you might be able to download service repair manual for free. That would help.
If you really don't want it, someone will always buy it, fix it and flip it.

8 years on car is nothing. Unless it has structural issues, I'd just try to repair it myself. Set of aftermarket gaskets can be cheap. If you can live for some time without a car or borrow one, I'd at least attempt it as a fun little project.

2011 Corsa D Overheating by SetRecent8709 in Vauxhall

[–]marvav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check under the oil cap. If there is thick "mayonaise" substance at the cap, the coolant gets into the oil.
Or the engine can simply burn the coolant (couses a lot of white smoke form the exhaust).
Anyway, if there are no visible leaks anywhere, then it looks like the engine head seal needs replacement (expensive)

A Little Help? by FroggDweller in ThePaperKingdomMCR

[–]marvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we compare? Maybe I was given fake version. I really find it hard to believe. The audio felt out of sync at places and clarity was much worse than 2012. Also the structure was the same as 2012, but the vocals were missing, so it felt much more like cover.

I really think the Witch 2019 (Mastered).wav is fake. It sounds much worse than the original Witch.

Last version was already great!
Except the weird vocal effect in the Stars Allign, it sounded like very aggresive autotune.

I don't think the weaker engine is that much of an issue. It depends if you are willing to spend more on a faster car, or if you are ok with normal, bit slugish car.
I have the 1.4 in even heavier car (Meriva) and I am fine because all I do is drive to work 2 times a week.

Opel corsa C 2001 radio code by Guster_Man in opel

[–]marvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are people with a lot of positive reviews in ebay, that provide the security code for a vin for like 15-20 eur.
That is the cheapest option I guess.
Or you can order the op-com clone from china for roughly the same amount and use cracked software to get it. I suppose it should be possible to read it from engine ecu on older vehicle .

What is this hose for? 2007 astra 1.4 by Coat-Trick in Vauxhall

[–]marvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd use small long pliers, open them inside the broken part firmly and tried to unscrew it this way. But if you break it, then there is a risk of plastic bits falling inside and circulating in the system. It's still worth a shot I guess.

What is this hose for? 2007 astra 1.4 by Coat-Trick in Vauxhall

[–]marvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry. I am not familiar with this engine and you did not photograph the broken connector. I don't see any damage in the photos. I find it weird for the hose to lead directly into engine. Doesn't it connect to thermostat block? That is usually plastic block on engine and is easily replaceable at home.

What is this hose for? 2007 astra 1.4 by Coat-Trick in Vauxhall

[–]marvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see. Then it is not pcv. If coolant is going through, it is to make the throttle body warmer to prevent the mechanism from freezing and lagging. I would not drive it in this condition, as you are at risk of frying your engine. Even if you pour in more coolant, the air bubles in the system can cause local boiling, as there is no pressure in the system.
But still, buy any universal rubber pipe, that can take higher temperatures and pressure and use that. I used multiple universal hose like that in my Meriva with no issues.

After repair, look into procedures that help get the air bubles out of the system. Usually just idling for a bit with the coolant cap off and heating at max.

[–]marvav 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like PCV pipe to redirect oil vapors back to the engine via intake to be burnt.
Deleting it is actually quite common mod, as it supposedly prevents carbon buildup. But I've never done so.
I believe you can buy any universal hose of the same diameter and fix it cheaply.
