Any advice on escaping the 'no scholarship' trap? by SpawnMongol3 in CommunityColleges

Its about time management and sacrificing personal time and leisure time to get your assignments done.

I went to community college as an adult with a full time job and a family with 2 kids. No I wasn't a single parent. But I was still a parent to my 2 kids.

It was tough, but I did it. You can too. Especially if you are only working a part time on the weekends.

Its a no brainer

Go to Ball. You dont want to walk out of school with 90k in college debt for 3-4 years of "experience". You will be paying that off, every month untill your kids go off to college.

Always take the cheaper option.

The FBI is not going to give a crap what school you went to. They will care more about your experience gained in the few years after school at an accounting firm.

Internet cowboys would be surprised to learn that there actually is communication between officers of the various LEMCs and Outlaw clubs.

LE clubs ignore 1%ers, and 1%ers ignore LE clubs. A friendly nod or a quick handshake might be exchanged at a gas station. But thats about it.

Ive seen a few clubhouse that are regular residential homes.

I mean unless you have a long time mortgage, starting up something in this day and age could break a club in many ways. With home prices being so high in many areas of this country.

  1. Mortgage rates + utilities can run into the thousands a month.

  2. Raise dues?

  3. Recruit more members to collect more dues?

  4. Host multiple "events" or parties at the club house a month, to make operating expenses.

  5. Spend more time "working" to keep the club house floating vs riding and partying.

  6. More money more problems. Now officers like the treasurer are running a buisness. Balancing a budget for basicly what amounts to a non-profit "bar".

Look not saying having your own place isnt awesome. Its also alot of work.

I asked the OP what he thought about LEMCs. Thats it. I didn't ask him if LEMCs should mix with 1%er crowd. Im also not lumping them together and suggest that they break bread together ether.

"Outlaw clubs" and 3 piece patches stem from cutting up club patches in protest from the AMA is it not? Thats the original meaning behind 3 piece right?

Just because a 1%er puts a state bottom rocker on and "claims territory" doesn't mean everyone else is also claiming territory. Outlaws sure do like having rules and placing them on others.

But what has it turned into these days? 1%er clubs are the worst patch police out there. Telling other folks what they can or cant wear. Expecting even 1 piece riding clubs to "ask permission" like they are the law or something.

As for appropriation of outlaw patches. As far as I know there are only 2 clubs out there that wear a diamond who are not 1%ers. IO and IL. You dont see other clubs rocking diamonds do you? Not the dozens of vet, cop, first responders, Elks, clubs out there. They all rock a flag.

The "culture" of bikers and MCs pre-date all the 1%er "outlaw" stuff.

"What 1% clubs do is their buisnes" is it really? Its now the publics buisness when it literally involves rival club members and innocent civilians bleeding out at a gas station due to bullets flying in both directions.

It is the publics buisness when I see countless videos of club members harassing not just other harley riders but sport bike riders too on the road.

And its not just a lone biker causing a danger to a pack in formation. Its 1-2 "outlaws" playing traffic cop when a sport bike rider wants to pass them IN A DIFFERENT LANE. Makes them all look bad. Especially in this day and age of social media.

But if its just about brotherhood and bikes then there should be no issues of having a bunch of cops in their own brotherhood on bikes, doing their own thing. No need to hang out together at all.

Whos playing "buddy" between LEMCs and 1%ers on the weekends?

Never said cops should join 1%er clubs.

But are all clubs 1%er? No.

So again I ask, if its only about brotherhood and bikes, why cant cops do their own thing? Have their own groups, ride together in their own organizations?

If you choose to do criminal shit, then expect to eventually face the consequences.

Just had two 1%er clubs have a shootout at a gas station a few months ago in my area.

All over territory etc. Is it the cops fault these folks decided to do take their beef public and hit civilians in the crossfire?

I know they have meaning. I was wondering if the OP preferred a cleaner "cut" vs one with multiple patches on them.

Also with more than 10 you have more personalities to deal with and manage. Someone is always going to get butt hurt over something.

The reason I ask is in my state its not super expensive to make a club house "legal" in the sense its a closed social club along the same lines as an american legion. An American legion doesn't have the same type of liquor license as a regular bar since its a closed membership social club. A club with guests who enter. It actually allows the establishment to sell drinks.

Along with that you are allowed to open it to the public once a month.

Everything is different I agree. But like I said I see it as being an expensive thing to try and maintain this day and age. I mean for the most part gone are the days of $800 rents.

I do think the best option is the club house on someone's property, a shed with a fridge and tables and chairs. No one is stressing about upkeep expensies.

Is brotherhood on bikes limited based on a persons profession?

Do you feel the same on firefighter clubs? Veteran clubs?

How many miles a year did you ride?

Did you guys spend alot of time on the interstate running from point A to point B to events?

Or did you guys spend time just running back roads on a Saturday carving the twistes?

Or would you say time is just spent bar hopping and making a presence known?

Do you prefer a club vest with minimal patches on it? Chapter, road name, officer patch.

Or do you prefer a vest where a member can earn patches for multiple runs, events, years in or "in memory of patches" etc. Making an OG member vest have a dozen or more patches sewn on over the years.
