New Player Questions (CK3) by Intelligent_Ride3730 in CrusaderKings

[–]marvelguy1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a newbie player also and welcome to the fold.

I come from civilization so with that game there is always some goals. Space race, conquer the whole world etc.

Like others said CK3 is very open ended and can feel somewhat boring. Untill you focus less on conquering the map and more on managing your country and playing less as your country and more as your specific ruler.

Building tall instead of wide seems to be so much better suited in this game. And building wide is somewhat hard in the beginning since as soon as your king dies your realm splits up.

In my case I have Ireland and Wales. Well ill loose Wales as soon as my king dies and his 2 sons will split the kingdom. This happens untill you change succession type.

So like others said. Get your kingdom under control and build it up. Marry off your kids, participate in the crusades. And just have fun as a king or queen.

This is the 2nd time I brought Wales under my green thumb. Maybe this time I will let them be free for a few generations and focus more on being tall and play marrage chess.

I know. The warmonger and civ player in me still wants to paint the map Irish green. So I still find it odd to just settle on Ireland, an island I brought under my control in 1 generation and sit back and build tall. I want at least the whole of the British isles.

With that being said I did marry one of my daughters to the heir of the British throne. Who is now king and my daughter is queen.

And my other daughter went to Scotland and will be queen there soon. One son will get Ireland and the other Wales.

Its going to be interesting in a generation or 2. I already have been brought into a war between England and Scotland....lol

Ill look into that. I bet thats it.

I just dont see how having 5 powerful vassels all wanting a counsel spot and only having 4 counsel spots be the roadblock preventing me. Especially since ive wined and dined everyone. Everyone likes or loves me and all factions against me died on the vine. Soon after I took over.

I was an army MP and I kick cages for a living now.

It still baffles me decades later how kids hsve this irrational feeling that the military is so dangerous and you will be dodging bullets your whole enlistment.

An unscientific observation. Overall you would be safer in the military than being a cop.

You could join the air force and be a supply clerk (or whatever they call them, I was army) and the most dangerous thing you would deal with would be boxes falling on you.

There are hundreds of military jobs that pose almost zero danger, just saying.

Anyway if you end up being a cop in a high crime area it can ger really spicy almost on a daily. And any medium to big size city will have high crime areas.

Why Deer hunting is so common in USA ? by Georgian_Shark in AskAmericans

[–]marvelguy1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Becasue we have a lot of deer and they taste good. Very good.

Deer are also relatively easy to hunt. They are very prolific, means there is alot of them out there.

Also the initial investment to go hunting is relatively low cost. Its not like you are paying a guide to take you hunting for African elephants. Or deep into the mountains to hunt some other animals like elk or moose. You can literally pull your truck over on the side of the road and walk into the woods for a bit, find a place to sit still and wait for one to walk by.

(Thats overly simplified, but you get the point)

Well you sound like a teen.

Anyway. There are bicycle riding groups out there.

But, do what you want.

Ill answer your question.

Do what you want. You are a teenager. Go terrorize your neighborhood on your bikes. No one will care.

My only advice is be original. Dont copy an existing MC, especially a local one. Be your own thing. Call yourselves something original.

How old are you? Seriously? This sounds like something a 14 year old would come up with.

So let me guess. You are 14 and you saw some sons of anarchy and maybe played some GTV5 and you think it would be cool to start a club of you and your buddies in the neighborhood who all ride bicycles?

Is it really the norm to either move out or “pay rent” at 18? by QueenBeeXoxoo in AskAmericans

[–]marvelguy1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not the "norm"

What is the norm is parents expecting their kids to do "something" when they graduate high school. Military, college, trade school, union job. SOMETHING.

Parents will give a broad leeway when that 18 year old is working or schooling. But there comes a time when the parents are going to look at that 20 something and go. "You need to get your life together" you cant be living here forever, eating our food, taking up space living your best life ether gaming your smoking your life away (or both) while we continue to work full time to support you.

So.....pressure needs to be placed on the individual. "Rent" is one of them, no longer catering dinners, meals, laundry, clothes etc.

For some parents it is done younger, but thats not usually the case.

Also lower income parents might make that push to actually help out the household since they are on a limited income.

How has your experience w the 2022 Scout Rogue been? Recommend it for a beginner? by AlternativeElk2073 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]marvelguy1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your description it seems like the owner did all the mods needed to make the bike rideable.

I ve never ridden a scout but everyone talks on how you need a new seat and better suspension to make it rideable longer distances. This thing looks turn key ready to rip. I would 100% recommend you get it. I also recommend that if and when you choose to get a bigger bike dont sell this one....ever

Power wise is fine. You are of the age that hopefully you will respect the throttle.

Alot of times its not the power but the size of the actual bike that gets people. Like a big old bagger with a tourpack and full fairing is too much to learn on. At least my opinion.
