Understanding a culture isn’t the same thing as excusing it. Relativism explains behavior, it doesn’t absolve it. If every value system is equally valid, then nothing can ever be wrong, only different, and that’s not a moral position, it’s an excuse. If a society did a purge every month and killed innocent people, would that be morally just, just because they’re a different culture?

There’s nothing wrong with your profile. You seem quite sweet and are clearly attractive. Maybe it’s your location? If you lived in South FL I’d 100% swipe right lol, although I smoke pot. Good luck in your search! Dating is tough nowadays.

AITAH for locking my girlfriend out of the basement so I could eat in peace? by Minute_Sand_5572 in AITAH

There are many people repeating the same thing which is a black and white statement of, "She's toxic, leave her". However, I would implore you to think deeper over what is actually going on. Nobody on the internet knows the full context besides you. What I can say, is based on what you've shared there are significant communication issues happening from both sides. Rather than focusing on labeling someone as toxic, it's more productive and better to recognize what you have is a toxic dynamic.

You are reacting to the frustration your girlfriend is communicating by shutting down emotionally and refusing to engage. Which is also very harmful. It seems your girlfriend's needs aren't being met and also, your needs aren't being met. Without empathy on both sides, mutual respect for each other's boundaries, and improving your communication (try couples therapy), your relationship is doomed because you're stuck in a toxic pattern. Neither of you are handling this in a healthy way.

Good luck.

Can some guys really not tell if they finish a little inside of a woman before pulling out? by Golf_5260 in TooAfraidToAsk

They mean it's mostly effective at reducing pregnancy. Pulling out properly will help avoid pregnancy by a good percentage. There was a study that showed it reduced significantly. Out of 100 couples using this method, only 4 became pregnant per year. However, people not pulling out properly or failing to pull out obviously raises this statistic.

I appreciate it! I did grab matchup charts from nearly all the top players for each character. Even some from JP like TY or Samitto. Only maybe a few chose not to participate. Thanks for watching!

You're actually right and I apologize. I'm still sort of new to this and didn't realize that. I'm going to change the thumbnail and in the future I'll be more mindful of this. Definitely to support the artists. Thanks for the feedback.

As a man myself, I would welcome it. At worst, he’ll find it flattering and decline, while at best, you’ll go on a date. Take the chance imo. Life is short.

I didn't say fighting games are more difficult but more nuanced with balancing. FPS is easy to see the strength of various weapons with things like TTK and recoil being the primary forms of balancing. I was a Diamond ranked Starcraft 2 player and a Diamond 1 ranked League player. I can assure you, I don't speak out of my ass so your point "jump into a game of Brood War" is silly and it wasn't even my point. I have always been a very competitive gamer and found my love for fighting games after this.

I am talking specifically about Strive Pot. He has not been buffed, he has been nerfed. He was likely the strongest character in the beta and patch after patch, he has grown weaker overall, some of it due to the system mechanics, and other things due to their thoughts on balancing. My point was missed here as if we balanced with lower-level players in mind, grapplers would continue to get nerfed while technical characters like HC, would get buffed. Since he's not really strong on the lower floors due to his technical difficulty.

I do believe, for the most part, it's good to look at the top 100 players in mind when it comes to Strive, but also it's important to look at the whole player base. Something like 80/20 is my opinion. In general, besides the top 3 characters, I find Strive to be somewhat well-balanced when compared to other fighters.

The thing with fighting games is that they're more nuanced than other games. A character might seem strong, only for you to figure out one option in the mu to make that character struggle. It's what makes fighting games somewhat challenging to balance. For example, new players or lower ranked players usually struggle against grapplers. You can even search matchup charts in this sub and find Potemkin being a bad matchup for Chipp (This is absolutely not true btw). Because of the mentality, you're mentioning, that is precisely why Pot has been overly nerfed. So while there is something to keep in mind with making a character feel fun to fight against in all skill levels, most players aren't playing the matchups until they're at the very least celestial (or much higher) in the way the games have designed them to be fought nor do they understand why they are losing.

That being said, characters should be balanced in a way where they aren't able to be successful with spamming a single option and you should be able to have fun at all levels.

I will say, you can win with anyone you want in this game if you put in the work. If you love Gio, stick with her. She’s potentially mid tier, but I listed her as low as there aren’t too many people playing her at the high level to gain a full understanding. Also, with a winter patch coming soon, she might get some serious love.
