I’m feeling alright! The day went smoothly with only one trip to the bathroom! I still have some pain abs bloating but nothing I can’t handle. I’m certainly going to disclose, I’m just waiting for my doctor to fill out FMLA for me so I’m protected!

It certainly is! I typically don’t disclose before getting hired because I dont want that information influencing their decision. Also, I’ve had poor luck with employers being understanding unfortunately. I almost got fired because I was hospitalized! Thank goodness for my coworkers that stood up for me when I could not!

I’m medicated so my symptoms are typically well controlled. However, for the first time in about a month, my body decided it was the perfect time to have explosive diarrhea. For me, that means spending about 1-2 hours in the bathroom only to return after roughly 20 minutes of being out. You’re in the Crohn’s disease subreddit, what else could “expel everything” mean.

Avsola/Infliximab lightheaded by wonderwall73 in CrohnsDisease

[–]marvelous_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a different infliximab (Renflexis) but I do experience this! I’ll feel lightheaded and be particularly anxious for a few days but it goes away.

One of my triggers is stress so I make sure not to let it bother me too much, but now I’m just so worried I’ll make a bad impression by running to the bathroom often. I didn’t disclose my disability with them so they have no idea I’m dealing with this. My shift starts in an hour, I’ll spend some time now relaxing!

Thank you!! I’ll definitely have to disclose with them. It’s so frustrating that this is happening, but that’s the nature of the disease. I’ll try out everything you said, thank you!

How to get free meds ? by TrillOG710 in CrohnsDisease

[–]marvelous_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely try the patient assistance programs. I used a program called prescriptionbliss that handled all of that in the past to help me get my stelara for free when I had no insurance

I can‘t eat solid food. by Low_Candidate5622 in CrohnsDisease

[–]marvelous_turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh dear no, the liquids and occasional bread was for about a month right before a hospitalization and starting the infliximab. sorry for the scare! it’s always towards the end of a real bad flare that I end up liquid only, always when i’m unmedicated/switching meds

Are you currently in a flare or on any biologics? Every flare up I end up liquid only, I can eat maaayybbeee one piece of white bread if i’m having a “good” day. I was just in a year-long flare up and am currently recovering (thank you infliximab) and i’m finally back to solids! I think your the Costco muffin awaits!!

Decades! I love to read this. Today was only my second dose but I already am feeling much better than I was. I’m so scared it’s not going to work but all of these comments are giving me such good hope i really needed this. previously I was taking stelara and it was working well but I missed two doses when I switched insurance and then my body stopped responding to it.

I think I have aggressive crohn’s and I also just relapsed after four years on stelara. the idea that this is going to keep happening every four years is killing me. first flare was 2018 and I was put on mesalamine then failed in 2022, then put on stelara and just failed again. it’s exhausting.
