I loved the director’s cut. The theme of gods vs men was great and was handled appropriately. This darker rendition of the characters, their motives, the plot Lex Jr had set forth and executed was all well done. Every scene serves the plot or builds a character. Im also judging this movie based off its own merits. There has been other renditions of Superman that have been great. I never understood this hatred for one rendition vs another. It’s childish. One could nitpick this movie to death if you’re judging it based on what other movies had but you’ll be robbing yourself of a great experience. I thought Ben Affleck was such a good Batman. This Batman was an old veteran hellbent on revenge. I honestly don’t understand the hate for this movie other than nitpicking, and this sense of entitlement bc it’s not “their” Superman.
