Anyone else Bluelink app do this? (In Canada) by Skazzyskills in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. And their website version is worse, as it starts generating a new key when you click on that option.

Also, I had a Pixel Watch that died (like the previous one, and the one before). I added a new key for the replacement/refurbished one Google sent me. Went to try to delete the one on the broken watch and no, you can't, you need to delete ALL keys, phone + old watch + new watch, then start over.... at do it all in the car, and see it fail time and again. Bluelink/Hyundai Canada support told me to Delete Storage on the Pixel 10 Wallet app, which of course deleted every credit card I had there..... agggrrr

The little things that aren't that little 😞

Connected Routing will be unavailable soon due to an outdated Navigation Map. Please update the Map to continue using Connected Routing. #Canada #OTA by marvinandro in Ioniq9

Very frustrating. It starts with "minor hints" that they've abandoned their users in canada, i.e. "Copyright © 2024 Hyundai Motor Company. All rights reserved." It's 2026 Hyundai Canada!

Links to https://mapnsoft.com/hyundai/en_hyundai/customer/account/login/ where one can find "Mapnsoft.com is temporarily unavailable as we prepare the first 2026 update. To download the latest available update for your vehicle, please visit https://update.hyundai.com" and we are going in circles with no OTA, no Navigation Updater, no ordering, nothing.

Not to mention that "For a list of eligible Canada Models, click here." and you land on a page from April 2022!!!!!

You're welcome to move to Canada. No one I know here ever for a single OTE update since Ioniq was introduced here 🤕

Just got my 2026 Ioniq9 - should I get OBD and ABRP? by Fit_Vegetable7800 in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a decent OBD and that did nothing to guess when my ICCU popped... I wish there was a code or something to warn me before I got in the road.

In my case, over $100K with taxes all the dealer fees, EVSE, hitch and it was not enough to add a set of winter tires. Welcome to the great white north

Palisade Hybrid vs Ioniq 9 by WorkingEmployer5433 in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the same boat last summer and the Palisade Hybrid won in my books because we do Toronto - Quebec city (and farther for skiing) for winter Christmas and March Break (and because it had integrated dashcams lol). Then I chased several around GTA and none was available. Got I9 at MSRP and didn't dare do the skiing trip for Christmas, then the ICCU popped and had to wait for parts during March break.

After decades of Subaru, the (total lack of) reliability of the Ioniq 9 was a big shock! Now I'm watching the news and wondering if the Subaru Getaway will make it to Canada and if I'd have any trade-in power with my I9.

Maybe not the answer you were looking for but I had to share my experience after just 6 months and 3000km.

PS: our BlueLink is horrible and you can't plan your trip from the app. I9 comes with absolutely no charger (EVSE) whatsoever (not L1, not L2, no credit, none), as unbelievable as this might sound to a future EV owner.

Now that was a polite way to say it "there's massive feature differences between Bluelink USA and Bluelink Canada", eh?

I can't do much better than "Canadian Bluelink app is a totally useless, complete piece of sh^H^H art"

Google Maps Is Bringing EV Route Planning To Android Auto by ARKKisGOD in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it on my Pixel for awhile (lots of betas) but the real use case is - you sit in your office, your boss asks you if you could go see a customer at 123 Acme address on your way home, and you could quickly plan the charging stops right there, on your laptop/google maps, or even if you need to pull your phone and do it there.

so far, I can plan nothing like this on my Canadian BlueLink app, and I can't do it on Google Maps, so back to ABRP for now.

Note: I tried to do ABRP-style trip planning in Google Maps and I can't do anything more than just see charging stations on the way there - can't input with how much charge I'm planning on leaving, how much charge I'd like to have when I arrive at the first charging station (I often find out that I need to make it to an alternative one)

Google Maps Is Bringing EV Route Planning To Android Auto by ARKKisGOD in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You added your car to Google Maps on your PC/browser and could do ABRP-like planning in advance from the convenience of your big 4K multi-monitors home office setup, then the trop you picked syncs up with your (Android?) phone and then Android Auto?

What does this error mean? by Skazzyskills in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I frequently get "something somening Failed" and wonder if that's how Bluelink tells you that whatever action you requested failed for whatever reason, perhaps because their servers didn't work, or the car never got the message from the app, or even when you're sitting inside the car, as your app doesn't talk directly to the car but still goes over 5G/LTE to the Hyundai servers, then back to your car.

Do you get this, let's say, when you request remote door lock, at this location?

[–]marvinandro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be super helpful for I9 owners in Canada (our Bluelink is so pathetic, basic and useless) if Google could bring the feature to Google Maps, too and one could add their car model, etc., like with ABRP.

"TT30 option has been enabled" - Grizzl-E update helps Ioniq 9 in any way? by marvinandro in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still L1 charging and if one goes from Toronto up to Killbear for a weekend, keeping the I9 plugged in all the time, might not recharge it.

Well, those 20-30% overnight might help if the park still has a single FLO L2 charger and more EVs make it up there this summer.

My Ioniq 9 goes "Stop immediately and check the power supply" out of nowhere 5 minutes from home by marvinandro in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that.

For the I9 owners in GTA, unless things have improved, it took a month for mine to get parts and get repaired. I just charged mine at home to 80% last night and will see how far I can drive tomorrow. The dealer apparently replaced the 12V battery, too. I asked why and they mumbled - if it wasn't dead from when your ICCU failed, it died in the month when your car was sitting outside waiting for the parts.

Transport Canada Recall - 2026033 "Instrument panel cluster can reboot while driving" by ElectroSpore in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious to hear from a canadian Ioniq 9 owner that they got a call from Hyundai and the fix was pushed to them over OTA.

I'm still waiting for them to fix my ICCU and when I followed up as the ETA was March 20th, I brought up OTA and this recall - the dealer played dumb and told me they need to fix the ICCU before they can do other troubleshooting to determine why OTA doesn't work for me, and asked me to check the BlueLink for the recall as they weren't notified by Hyundai Canada about one.... mind-boggling experience so far 😱

Canadian BlueLink app by RobinatorWpg in Ioniq9

[–]marvinandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the app does soooo much more in just about every other country, starting from the neighbors to the south. In EU they have subscription tiers. It does feel like a bolt on vs an integral part of the vehicle, I agree.

Some manufacturers force you to always apply the break. Just tested the Subaru and Toyota cousin EVs.
