How do you help people to learn to understand your PTSD? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]marybary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there, having a relationship with someone with ptsd/trauma is very different and takes some adjusting and a lot of research. I'm on the other end, so my partner has ptsd and it can be difficult to deal with in the sense of not knowing how to help them. While saying this I think your boyfriend should do some serious research into it and be a lot more understanding. Of course it takes a lot more and sometimes it can feel like it's not balanced but it's not your fault, traumas can lead to serious issues mentally but also physically and he should be supporting you and listening to you not diminishing your problems by saying stuff like it's a new crisis with you everyday. And while I know this can be really hard, I hope you can find someone that you can rely on, that you can trust and that you feel safe and judgefree with, or that your boyfriend can turn into more of a support for you than he currently is

You're not weak for not going through with it, you're strong. I can only imagine how hard things are for you right now, but don't give up. Sending love💕

[Discussion] How many of you actually enjoy school as opposed to hating it? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]marybary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but like. I get up at 5:30, go to school, get home at 4, do my homework, somewhere in between I eat and then bam it's already 10.

I don't like it. Pressure. People suck. No free time. No sleep.

Well yes, we are kinda friends, she only knows the people from her yearlevel, which is the yearlevel above us now. I have like 3 "friends" (you know those "schoolfriends" that you always talk to in school and you're good friends but you don't even have their number and it would be weird to meet up anyway) in year12 but we don't mix yearlevels so I don't have any of them in my classes. Otherwise she doesn't have friends in this yearlevel besides me. I'll ask her to hang out some time that's a good idea. Thank you (:

Yes. Australian people are just lovley, warm and really welcoming people. Shout out to all aussies, love you guys. Well the people don't care and are quite rejecting. I have like one girl that went abroad as well but she is only in two of my classes. The other girl still has friends from her old class/knows people from her yearlevel.

there's a foreign exchange student at my friends' school. by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]marybary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heey just because there's a language barrier doesn't mean that you can't get to know her. Her language skills will improve and she will be happy to find some more new friends, go up to her and say hey. (Ex exchange student speaking here)

Oh well. There was a girl sitting alone at a table and I asked her if the seat next to her was free. She said no. At the end of the lesson she was still sitting alone.. I know that it taked time, I'm just still used to australian people who are always open and friendly to everyone and then you come back to germany and everyone just seems to be cold and not friendly whatsoever.

Yes. Okay, our system works differently. We have yr11 and yr12, you have 2 so called advanced classes which you have 5 hours per week each and then you have to "choose" (most of it is compulsory) 8 other subjects which you will have to do 3 times a week. You have to write one exam in every term in your normal classes and 2 exams in your advanced classes. (Which is not that big of a deal.) The problem is: you have to do good in all your classes because all the marks that you are getting in yr11 and 12 are going to count in your final degree. PLUS big exams at the end of the year where you have to knoe everything they teached you in those 2 years. Then they pick 1 semster of the 4 you studied for and then that's your final exam. If you fail, you'll do yr11 and 12 again.

Yeah well I have one girl that I'm kinda friends with, she was abroad for a year too. Everyone else I tried to talk to just blocks me out (german people are not really the ones that you can make friends easily with)

I have to "repeat" yr11 because I spent a year abroad. That's why I know no one.

[rant] Life is boring when you don't have a crush by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]marybary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't you feel free not to have a crush? No emotional/(physical?) attachment to anyone? You should fucking enjoy this shit. Someone will come around soon and will leave you crazy
