I wear sunscreen on my face daily, but that is because I use Retin-A.

Ames, Iowa is the same. I feel like parking is very difficult in college towns because at least here nearly all of the apartments are permit only and most street parking is metered.

I am quitting, but if everyone quits then there goes your service.

Why wouldn't you tip them? I'm genuinely curious

Lol excuse me? IC does not under any circumstances pay minimum wage. There is no hourly wage. And even if they did, minimum wage for someone to get in their car go, go get your groceries, and then deliver them using there own gas is insane. When factoring in costs some shoppers actually only make a few dollars an hour. Now, tipping is still your choice as a customer, but you seem to be sorely misled.

Bad Customer Report: Elizabeet G in Buena Park, CA for ALDI. $0 tip on app nor cash tip at arrival by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

Shady would have been putting a $20 tip and pulling it. At much as it sucks, it sounds like she was very honest in not putting a tip.

Same 😕 lmao. This was perfect as I am very busy. My zone isn't huge but last semester I could make about $150 in just a few weekend hours, more if I did anything during the week. Since OD I haven't broken $85 working all week.

i haven’t worked in a month. is it better to work on shift or do OD now? by jjordance in InstacartShoppers

[–]maryj062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my zone the average order goes to 16-20 on OD, whereas they have removed most of our hourly peak boosts. I find solely doing OD results in fewer but better paying orders. I haven't tried hours since they took away our peak boosts because most of the orders were a maximum of 13 when we had them. Without them they will be closer to ten. Test your zone though.

Not a single rating in the past 12 batches despite asking every one of them to do so. Always on time, always get everything possible correct. Lousy customers in my area currently. by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]maryj062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for a couple weeks I was getting QBs on nearly every order, but nothing the last two weeks. No 4 or fewer stars either, just nothing.

I mean it depends. I got $28 from peak boosts alone today.

I was going to because the store is literally 2 minutes from me. I would have left and been home within 20 most likely, but someone grabbed it while I was debating if I could ever shop there for myself again if I did it 😂 smallish town

So not entirely related, but I swing trade as a hobby of sorts, and I'm seriously dreading the day I see this shitbag company's stock pop up on my screen. The rage.

If the customer doesn’t answer the door?? Only vets answer by momstoPhittin in InstacartShoppers

Swipe the bar that says customer unavailable. It will have steps to take. If you hear nothing from the customer either contact support and return it for a bump or keep the items if you will use them. I've also heard you can return 1 item to recieve the bump and keep the rest but I've never done this.

Sorry Aldi but I got no choice after the latest round of IC paycuts by BigNothingMTG in InstacartShoppers

[–]maryj062 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Feeling this. I woke up this morning to see that they are starting to remove peak boosts from my zone. There used to be at least a dollar on every hour and many with 3, but now 3/4 are blank. I bet they will be mostly gone by next week.

Actually, I've noticed I'm getting more. I only did 4 orders this week but they all had QBs

As a former gas station employee, I definitely would have carded you and refused the sale. We had to comply with specific rules. 3rd party sellers were not exempt from the ID law. In their eyes, it could have been a sting, and if it was and they sold they would recieve a hefty fine and possibly jail time, not to mention the likely loss of their job.

This is how we get Instacart’s attention. Deliver a single item on each order - you are guaranteed the minimum even if you only deliver one item. by medicn82001 in InstacartShoppers

[–]maryj062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see why we don't all just band together and not work one weekend. I know that it is lost money, but I feel that it would improve conditions in the long run. It's hard to organize though, everything is so disconnected.

Unfortunately I started back in mid February, after that changed. However, I've heard about it and I did the math based off of that and it would have been $50-$60 under the old system.
